Hi, i was reading this forum for a long time...and now it is the time to make a pretty fast 20vt in poland. So i have some question for more experience friend from UK. mods that i want to make -Tubular Manifold (already doing) -big FMIC (already doing) -3" down pipe and exhaust (already doing) -gt3071r (already bought the smallest one) -injectors about 550ccm -smt6-7 or something like that to make fuel and boost map...or apexi avcr to make boost map(smt only to fuel) - clutch (what should i put ?? 4 PADDLE CLUTCH with double holdfast) - and now what you think about this mods...how many NM can stand serial internal i'm reading that 350PS is the max for them...but...what if the NM will be higher at rpm? i' looking for an about 380-430PS and a lot on NM can you tell me something about this - http://cgi.ebay.pl/H-Beam-Conrods-Connec...1QQcmdZViewItemand is there any chance to buy good conrods and crowd in good price?are they necessary to make 400PS ?? thanks and i hope that you can help me whit this project PS Sory for my english

Wilkuw - your English it LOADS better than my Polish (and a lot better than some of the English members too!)
DON'T buy conrods off ebay - they are probably cheap far-eastern copies
Standard piston and rods will take about 350 bhp, but ONLY of everything else is perfect (fuelling, timing, intercooling etc). There are plenty of people that have killed their engine with far less bhp, due to incorrect fuelling or very high charge temperatures.
You will definitely need forged pistons to get 400bhp safely, but as long as you balance the piston and rod assembly, you can (just) get away with standard rods.
if you want to run more than 330 - 340 ft-lb (about 450Nm) you will also need forged rods too. My fuelling is specifically set to give about 330 ft-lb - I could have had lots more, but I don't want to risk a bent rod.
You won't need a tubular manifold - standard manifold is good for 500bhp if the ports are matched to the cylinder head.
550cc injectors is probably more than you need (I use 384cc for 400+ bhp), but it won't matter if you have the fuelling under proper control
Clutch - I use a Helix organic - it copes well with 400bhp and 330 ft-lb, but if you go for more torque, you may need a paddle clutch.
The only thing that you have missed off your list is a re-worked cylinder head (port and polish, three-angle valve grind etc) - this will make LOTS of difference, as the standard head is quite restrictive
Please keep us informed of how you get on with your project - there's lots of help here if you ask for it
Good luck

I forgot to tell you about the car... it is a Vinci grey LE with killed engine. Thats why piston and rod are going to be balance. Piston rings, pan etc are going to be new one. I will think about it. The car is currently in a my friend manufactory, it gets the exhaust, intercooler and manifold made. LE And a tab. main. to 1,8T made by my friend krzysiu I saw at FCCUK : -Pistons (Standard and oversized forged pistons available) - 82, 82.5 & 83mm forged (20vt): £750 + fitting - Forged rods (standard length or oversized): £500 Are they with piston ring , bolts etc ?And how many NM and RPM does the rods can stand ? Do you know maybe where can i buy good main pan and rods pan?? And maybe someone can buy some parts cheaper for me (rods/pistons) or somebody wants to sell his own...?? thanks a lot...and if you need help with something in poland, just let me know!

-injectors about 550ccm -smt6-7 or something like that to make fuel and boost map...or apexi avcr to make boost map(smt only to fuel) - clutch (what should i put ?? 4 PADDLE CLUTCH with double holdfast) You should also go for: - Straight Induction Pipe (try ProAlloy) and a cone filter. - Uprated fuel pump with the wiring mod (a relay being switched with the original fuel pump feed, giving the pump a high current feed).

Ross for krzysiu (he made it)it was easier to make it twin than one big pipe( not to much space in 20vt) right now the car stand in my friend garrage ,engine got new piston ring ,pan, head. Crank shaft ,crank etc was weigh,
