Okay here is the situation your advice and thoughts are most welcome.

Last year my insurance was just around £950 with 3 years NCB on my LE

Recevied my renewal quote and they are asking £1050, so will give them a call and no doubt it will come down.

I normally sporadically insure my other car as and when I would like to drive it \:\) however it has recently become more than twice as expensive \:\(

So I have decided I would like to go with a multi car policy and have both on the road all the time. The second car is a Tipo 2.0 16v which is what group 13-16. Both are completely standard except for upgraded security.

Now I could get a quote on that for around £600 a year so would be around £1500 for both \:\( do you think this can be bettered with a multi car policy? Keeping in mind that I would be the only driver?

Also who does multi car policy?

Admiral (maybe Bell or Elephant) and I think Direct Line. Is the LE modded? If so, try ND, Flux, Greenlight \:\)

Direct Line will mirror your existing NCB on another car and also allow you to earn a second set of NCB on that policy (up to a total of seven separate policies).

Did ND not offer to mirror your NCB on the second car? They did for me - ask Dean to talk to the underwriters \:\)

Admiral multicar were by far the cheapest for me. My coop cost £296 and my xantia cost £310 total for policy just over 600 quid.

If I insured them seperately the cheapest I could get was about £390 for the coop and £350 for the xantia.

Give them a call.

I've used Admiral multicar for the past 2 years, Coupe and Grande Punto for about £90 more than the previous cost of the coupe alone.

£360 for the pair this year.

Due for renewal 1st April so will have to see how they are next time.

Yup, Admiral multi-car is very good value usually.

Coupe = £198 per year
Bravo 1.2 = £240 per year.

Coupe is cheaper because it's low mileage per year, plus the NCD is applied to this car. The Bravo is cheap because (a) it's a Bravo, and (b) it's a 1.2. Being older helps too.

Well Admiral came back with what I would call a good quote £1080 for both cars.

Which considering last year I was paying £800 or 900 for just the Coupe is not bad I thought.

Also ND renewal was £1030 just for the Coupe.

Will have to see what ND come back with \:\)

I can recommend Admiral multi-car.

My wife had no NCB though shes been on my policy for years as a named driver.

Admiral were approx £700 for the coupe (wife main driver)
and £350 for astra 2.0sri (main driver me). Both fully comp.

They were very helpful and was a good deal.

Renewal not due till august so we'll see what it is like then.

I just insured my Rx7 on Multicar for £480, my coupe is £800, good price for the Rx7 though, considering it has a declared value of £7500 compared to the coupes £4500.

Okay well best deal I managed to find was £940 for both cars.

Dean was unable to match this but got down to £975 for two policies.

Decided to go with ND on this one, due to there record etc.

So happily renewed and got both cars on for almost the same as last year for just one car \:\)

I’ve just witched to admiral multi-car. Last year the coop was £600 and the MX5 was around £500. Now we’ve bought a diesel Mazda3, we thought we’d give them a go. With all modifications declared on the coop it was £520 (£320 without mods), the Mx5 and the Mazd3 were both £360. Great result for the same as the MX5 and Coop cost last year on separate policies. We used a 9 year no claims bonus on the coop and a 6 year on the Mazda3.

I got a quote from Admiral for the coupe TPFT with a year's NCB (social only) and a V reg Merc SLK worth £7k with 8 years NCB (social, commuting and business use), around 7000 miles total. I have a fault claim sitting from April 2005 (so will be gone in a couple of months but the SLK price will have increased with the arrival of summer). Includes my bro as a named driver on both cars - less than £650 (coupe cost £375 FC last year with the full ncb)

I just went with directline for my coupe and a bmw E30 325 touring. They just give a 10% discount for the second car. They wouldn't mirror the NCB though, so I'm bringing that over from my other insurer. Coupe is about £360 (6 years NCB) and the BMW £390 (3 years NCB) all fully comp with legal cover.
