The test carbon-fibre plate arrived today... how does this look?

It's on its way to Stan for testing; once he's happy, production starts. I'll make an announcement then.

Neil - I think I probably know the answer to the question, but I'll ask anyway.

Is it possible to have the device mounted onto the back of the mounting late without using bolts that go through the plate? I know this would require some kind of boss on the underside for using self-tappers

If not, might I suggest that black countersunk allen screws would be aesthetically more pleasing

As for the actual device - I'm in awe - I've always wondered if I could hack a Sykes Pickavant code reader to do what you've done - no need now \:D

Nigel, I've always wanted to do a clean mount, but it's tricky. It would need a threaded bar gluing to the back (of just the right thickness and offset) and screws of just the right length - there's no margin for error and a big risk of getting glue on the display when I fix it \:\)

The reason it has those particular bolts (M3*12 T10) is because I *wanted* M3 black or silver allen machine screws, but my supplier couldn't supply.

And now I have a couple of hundred of these left \:D

The plates are ordered drilled, so a non-drilled would have to be an expensive special, but you could certainly countersink and replace the bolts if that was your choice. Frankly, I rather like the T10s.

Seriously though, are the blue/white screens a genuine option?

Nah, you have to do it 5-7-5 syllables... you *nearly* made it! \:D

Colour possibilities: - note that on all these, the image will be black(ish) on the LED colour and in daylight they'll all look pretty much black and white because of reflected daylight. In the dark, they'll show the LED colour.

1) Blue/Black: http://img-europe.electrocomponents.com/largeimages/R5327079-99.jpg

2) Green/Black: http://img-europe.electrocomponents.com/largeimages/R5327085-99.jpg

3) White/Black: http://img-europe.electrocomponents.com/largeimages/R5327063-99.jpg

The one in my pics is green; in the dark it's quite bright! \:o

Slightly off-topic, but it's my thread, so...

Salma Hayek as the proof for the existence of god. For entertainment only; any arguments will get eaten by my super-powers.

Neil which one of the colours can you see best in the day. As i wouldn't know which one to choose, so the one you can see best would be the one i will have.

The datasheet says the green has the best contrast ratio, but without having seen the others I can't confirm.
