Is it me or one not-so-great feature of a Coop on TG and all the haters come out of the woodwork?

TG is alright. Entertaining, never anything more. It has it's highs and lows. Personally I think the channel crossing (if genuine what way it worked out) was one of the most amazing surprising feats ever on TV, considering that it was done by petrolheaded untrained unskilled TV presenters/journalists, who are basically [censored].

Now that the Coop feature is over I'l go back to take-it or leave-it and catch most of it on Dave reruns for when I have 10 minutes to waste.

If it were me I'd do it differenly and better of course, but couldn't you say that about anything?

Besides, where else on TV, or life, do you regularly get to see the cream of cars being abused? I have to wait weeks to catch something decent on camera!

Jezza painted his light blue probably with a 6inch paint brush inc the tyres and constantly smashed it into the others. Alfa owners will not want to watch that show...when you see it you will have see that he actually likes this car. The paint job on the coupe looked stunning.

I seem to remember a horse power is a rate of work. Therefore a man could generate a horse power and I would think a horse could generate several horse power for short periods of time.

Remember that one of them nearly sank in about a foot of swell by the French harbour wall (on the second attempt, after the supposed "arrival" in France). Do. The. Math.

For the record, I've been a long-term fan of the show but as already mentioned, I think their arrogance has replaced their creativity and they now feel that they can put in either as little creative effort, or as far-fetched and irrelevant content, as they wish because they've got the audience sewn up, and that's what I mourn.

They've cocked up a lot of things, tbh - the 'Ring being a notable victim.

Impressed bigme that for your first post you have trawled through 400 replies to this post and may even be one of the 18,874 viewers.

Interesting observation but personally thought programme was insulting and cheapening for the coupe, but maybe it's just one of my senior moments.

Personally, I can't see what all the fuss is about.

The Coupe is an old model Fiat, Jeremy Clarkson and the rest of his crews opinions won't make any difference to the resale value of a Coupe. (That is dictated moreso by fuel prices, longevity of parts, the current economic climate).

The actual episode was up to the usual standards of the past episodes, IMO.

Just sounds like sour grapes for some of you on here.

Thought the show was pretty poor on Sunday. The police car tests IMO were rubbish though I was laughing quite hard when the wheel shattered on the coupe. Couldn't help but think of the post here where someone took heart at the fact the coop seemed to only have a dent on the bonnett lol. Think the best thing to take from it was that even after JC fccuking around with the wheels it still had the power to overcome the handling problems and keep up with the stig (or was that just scripted so he could use the spikes!)Anyway wont make a blind bit of difference to coops image, appeal or price. Would have been much better set up in an idustrial estate with proper pursuits. Create an area where if the stig reaches it the chase is over and have the chase area covered with tin bins and stacks of cardboard boxes to drive through. Biggest disappointment though was not seeing the coop get a fair crack at the track time.

I have no particular problem with the episode per se, however I really do feel that TG would benefit from a few features aimed at the average person. Every feature on the show is practically a comedy item now, which is good entertainment for the most part but frustrating in other ways. I mean would it really kill them to do a group test of second hand cars with a theme? They could still keep in all the banter and slagging each others cars off (the funniest part anyway) and it would be some sort of help to those of us who don't buy new cars. When I changed my car last I really wanted to know what fast coupes were available on a 3k budget and there's only so long you can trawl the internet to find that sort of info. Yes TG is supposed to be a laugh and yes I really enjoy watching it, but I just feel it could've been so much more...

Well at least the 16vt re-sale value hasn't been effected!

Personally thought the episode was good fun.. but I watch it because its fun... I dont watch it because I want an unbiased opinion on how a F430 performs because i will prob never own one.. so seeing it hooning round a track with a middle aged screaming 'power' puts a smile on my face cause that ultimatly is what I would love to do!

If I wanted to watch something for indepth reviews of a wide range of cars I would watch 5th Gear...

I do find it amusing that when 5th gear is on though, there is normally a thread slating it about being not like top gear or the presenters are too boring or its too much like top gear etc etc etc.

well i was walking back to my car after work in the car park, somebody passed it and said "look, its one of those cars off top gear that had the spikes on it". so its getting more attention, but not sure if its good or bad!

Thought the show was hillarious. The coop still looks so good on the TV too.

After reading some of the comments on here I expected the worst, but that was a great show, good fun I thought Coop looked good and was the only one that was all over the BMW The Vitara was funny though expecially with it's little stinger (though you probably would expect Vitara owners to have little stingers )

Seeing it a 2nd time, actually short of JC giving it a straight advert he was pretty up beat about it.

Does anyone know what the classical piece playing was?
