give up on finding anything bright enough. I have used phillips xenon gas type bulbs, the ones that claim 30 percent brighter, and they were good, and legal. now using 100w phillips rally bulbs, and personally i cannot see any difference to the 30% brighter phillips ones.... really needs a hid upgrade:)

If you upright them, won't they point at the sky?

there is no comparison with halogen & HID

I've had mine pass through the MOT at least 2 times, no fuss.

the clarity they offer is quite amazing, especially reflective surfaces at night literally are picked out soo easily, eg : Cyclists etc

When I bought my car I tried with several halogen bulbs but finally I installed HID. No comparison. HID is the best for the coupe. I installed ProLumen kit with 8000K bulbs.

Please read this warning that I have posted a few mins ago

http://www.fiatcoupeclub.org/forum/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=49104&an=0&page=0#Post49104

In terms of HID, there are hundreds of kits available, but please note there are definitely not the same.

Hella/Philips Ballasts with Philips gas discahrge bulbs are unmatched. Philips D2S Gas Discharge is the only one using a quartz crystal in the bulb glass.

The other huge misconception is the temperature of the bulb, lower = brighter. THe brightest gas discharge temp is around 4100K. The higher the temp the more blue it becomes, with 12000K being almost violet and with virtually no white light, which means very poor vision.

Check out the information here http://www.autolamps-online.com/index.htm

Speak to Janet from autolamps, an undisputed expert in gas discharge bulbs.

Lastly Hella/Philips have never released technical info. on their bulbs, therefore those coming from Asia make claims not based on any viable research & development.

cheers

Nazo
