Sounds like a big premium for LOW MILEAGE

I'd spend the money on a nice 20v n/a preferably VIS with sensible 70k+ miles on it. Get a far better car.

does it have a service history ? Does it have any history ?

Yes it has Full Service History with main Dealer every 9,000 miles or 12 months. Cam belt changed 2,000 miles ago.
Is there anything else I should check for?

20 valves and a turbo? I take it the 16v nana badge is re: this prospective car? There is no way a 16v NA is worth that kind of cash.

1 in 3 allegedly, cars are clocked. Sounds prime mate. Most 13 year old cars have done 3 times that.

More info, ad, pic etc would be useful.

And dont just go on the stamps. It may be a genuine car, but a dealer stamp and a inkpad dont cost much to knock up. I would call the dealer that stamped the car to find out if they have a record on the service history.

You should be looking for invoice slips as well along with old mots etc.

If you are after the car for sentimental reasons (like it being one of the first cars produced) then fine, but dont pay over the odds when you could get a better car (a 20v) for about the same money.

over priced. No aircon, no leather. 16v.

And Child locks !!! its a two door sports car for fccuk's sake.

And forget about the mileage. 16v are fragile in comparison to the 20v.

whats the two little things under the bonnet on the grill? and whats with the speaker?

Remember at 13 years old, condition is more important than mileage.
And having done only 45,000 miles in 13 years is not going to be good for the engine. Time is going to decay much of the car.
£1500 would be too much to pay.

You should consider this 16V NA rather than this over priced one

Sell him your one Vickster and buy that Merc
