Hi have any of you guys heard of basic RTA insurance ?
And who does it?
My coupe needs tax, and as its for sale people want to test drive, I know its the minimum legal requirement to have a motor vehicle on the road but that's about it.

Presumably just 3rd party-only insurance?

it's discussed at the end of this thread, but it's not very common.

It also won't cover anybody test driving the car - they need to have their own insurance cover.

If you desperately want to tax it then I'd suggest insuring with somebody such as H&R insurance. Almost all of their policies have a pro rata cancellation rate, so you could insure the car, stick on 6 months tax and then cancel and it would only cost you a £20 admin fee plus a few days insurance. It's a bit cheeky, but might be easiest.

Dear monos, a secret truth.

I believe eCar insurance also do a scheme like that, they definitely do for bikes and have moved to cover cars as well now.
