1992 Escort Cosworth had a T3
1995 Escort cosworth had a T25 IIRC

Here's the original Autocar Road test for the Fiat coupé 20vT. This should be saved on everyone's 'puta by now

Also, that link is NOT a proper Garrett one. Don't touch it with a bargepole.

Is it one of those bad boys Nick?

NO! thats one of those cheap shit ones, most of them are just oil fed and are completely the wrong shape also, as they are not a straight swop... i should know i bought one and had my fingers burned!!!

If i were you i'd get everything else done first before thinking of bigger turbo... you'll be must better of getting the mods that aid spool up first so that when you get bigger turbo the lag won't be as bad...(coz it WILL be bad)... believe me you wouldn't like driving it if you just bolted a massive turbo on ... the lag would drive you insane....

Now most things have been done on mine i'm prob on full boost around 3700 revs...
Before i had all the work done there was a hybrid turbo on it which was deffo more potent than the standard blower, (not as big as cossie tho!) and with that nothing happened till 4000 revs so dread to think what it would have been like if i'd have just bolted the cossie one on??

Why don't you start a new thread asking people to post up 60-100 times and their mods in the same vein as the 40-100 in 3rd test was?

Stick it in a spreadsheet or something like this old one: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/1003/welformed/CCL.jpg

It's about time we did something like this again.

Because I did it once and it was an rse trying to get mod details out of people and keeping the spreadsheet up to date!

I'd do it again if I knew enough people were going to play.

Don't think my phone has a stopwatch either! I'll see if I can borrow a local rozzers. They always have stopwatches don't they?

Edit: I do have a GPS tracker though, which will give me distance travelled and long. lat. to 5 decimal places, average speed, max speed to 2 decimal places etc. but time it only does to the nearest full second. \:mad\:

http://s132.photobucket.com/albums/q27/nicdav1/?action=view¤t=MOV00005.flv

(please don't try this on everyday roads, this was carried out on my private test track!!!)

Going by what others have said in this thread i.e a 300 bhp coupe should do it in 13 secs... i'm MIGHTILY CHUFFED!!

Nick

P.s thats probably the first time she's been redlined in every gear since rebuild.... coupe paranoia will kick in tommorrow BIG STYLE... \:\/

thats pretty dam good that calculator!!!

last rolling road was only 250bhp at the wheels tho,
Fly wheel was 264ish IIRC???

Since added 3.8 bar fpr tho instead of the 2.5 bar one i used on dyno so i presume my fuelling is alot better now...

I'm up for this again Welformed. 60-100 sounds bit better too. The 40-100 was a pain in the arse trying to find somewhere quiet enough. 60-100 from 50mph in 3rd gear sounds like a good test. Also over in under 9 secs for even a standard car \:\)

It'll be a test of outright power starting from 3,965rpm so even the big hitters are nicely spooled with a theoretcial top speed of 103mph assuming a 6,800rpm limiter.

I'll be changing up to 4th before I reach 100mph for the best time. It pulls great from 3500-6500 but the more I can keep the revs between 5000 and 6000 the better, that's my sweet spot \:#

Doing the whole thing in one gear doesnt test the outright power, it tests the width of the power band (at the top end in this case)

Nice one nick_d. Looks like you were compromised by wheelspin there too. I have a vid of a 0-130 run, but I had pretty bad wheelspin and had to lift in 2nd as there is a slight corner involved too. Still, I think it was around 16-17 secs... BUT and it is a big BUT, I have noticed that replay from cameraphones in MP4 format does not appear to be at normal speed, so I wouldn't recommend that as a replacement for a stopwatch and honesty...

Anyway, IIRC I'm just off boost at 50mph in 3rd! 60 I'm not obviously. 50 in 5th I do everyday was well... I call it dawdling!

MattW, if you change up to 4th at 95, you'll only be at 4,775rpm. It is never worth changing up early... unless you have a diesel.

Welformred, 0-130mph in 16-17 secs is doubtful with 300bhp. Here's a list of cars I have this data in this area for
15.6 BMW E60 M5
15.6 Porsche 911 997 GT3
15.8 Porsche 911 996 Turbo (Power Pack 450bhp)
16.5 Mercedes E 55 AMG
16.7 Mercedes SL 55 AMG
18.1 Aston Martin Vanquish
18.3 Vauxhall Carlton Lotus
19.0 Mercedes SLK 55 AMG Black
19.9 BMW E39 M5
21.2 Vauxhall Monaro VXR 8
21.6 BMW E90 335i
22.0 Audi A6 RS6

Nice one. You really are a handy stat-man!

16-17s (IIRC) was what I counted on the vid, though the vid was from a proper camcorder in MPEG-4, not a camphone in MP4 replaying at a dodgey speed... even so if 17secs, it may not *be* 17s. 20s would sound about right though, seeing as I managed a play with that E39 M5 and it was dead equal from 40 to about 110. \:\)

I'll be reviewing that vid again tonight for sure. It was probably 25s!

btw, isn't that Lotus Carlton a legend!

According to the data i have, 3rd gear will do 15.1 mph for every 1,000rpm the engine is turning over at. I make this 103 mph at the limiter (6,800rpm) for a standard car so this should be entirely possible for everyone.

I think the NAs have the same length gear ratios as their turbo counterparts so they might even be able to join in too. Assuming of course they actually do 100mph? \:D
