Hello everybody, hopefully this is post in the right place, and hopefully i get a reply \:\)

What is the make of the standard alarm fitted in a 98 Fiat coupe 20v turbo, reason im asking is someone posted a reset of scorpion alarms a few months ago (Nate) my alarm has only worked once since i brought the car, i set it the first night and couldnt turn it off in the morning, opened the car and alram obviously went off, after constant pressing of key fob it finally went off after an embarrassing 5 minutes. I thought it was a fob battery, tried both fobs and had no joy, went to fiat and mechanic basically tried getting me to pay £300+ for a new 1 through fiat. Could someone help asap please, dont like leaving my coop unalarmed (i know they have coded keys) just feel safer with it alarmed.
Thanks

Go for a new Cobra or similar, the original Scorpion or Meta are very poor \:\(

Possibly. Depends on the age of the car etc so in your case I'd say yes. They seem to have a finite life and then they die, a slow, horrible, painful, but noisy death \:\(

Have you got the key for turning off the siren?

It's a small silver key with a black plastic top. Looks bit like a filing cabinet key. Some alarms are switched off inside the glove box others (like the Scorpion) are switched off at the siren unit: small rubber cap on top of the unit, pops off and gives access to the lock/switch.
