IS there a big thing to remove the knob and fit another one?!
Is it the same with the handbrake ?

The gear knob, put a scredriver bit under the knob and hammer upwards to loosen it. I then just pulled it off (with a fair bit of force!).
I presume you mean the aluminium handbrakes? To fit these, you need to hack off the rubber coating on the standard handbrake, and then the new one just slides on top of the handbrake shaft and is secured by 2 grub screws.
Neither were particularly difficult to be honest.

Have been looking at various 'knobs' and been told it is pretty simple to fit. Stu - sounds like you managed to get the original one off with a bit of force. Is it then simple to attach a new gear knob like this one [image]http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Fiat-Brava-Bravo-Coupe-Punto-Spider-Tipo-Gear-Knob_W0QQitemZ8038838067QQcategoryZ72223QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem[/image] ..or does it then need welding on rather than just clipping on ? Says it comes with simple instructions but don't believe it can be that easy ! Cheers

Original gear knob comes off easy if you use a spanner under it and hit upwards with a hammer. The shaft is splined and the knob forces on, not sure how aftermarket ones fit though.

Ive been looking at knobs for a while and done a bit of research and love that knob in the pic. Its a MOMO F-16 "s" type. The S signifys that its suitable for lift up reverse such as the Coupe. Im pretty sure its the one im going to go for now after seeing that pic .

Omran, to take the original off you have to hit it upwards and pull off with some force. Some have had to resort to hacking it off, but I managed to pull mine off without too much hassle.
I should imagine every aftermarket knob just slips over the main gear shaft and is then tightened with a grub screw. This is how mine was attached (Richbrook gear knob). This is how the handbrake is held in place too..
I've just managed to get my sticky hands on one of the nice Fiat Alu gear knobs, so will be looking to sell my Richbrook when it arrives, it's the titanium ball knob style.
