Phil - no worries. Neal - you have nothing to fear. It's (almost) bog standard. Hopefully we'll have fitted the Greddy EBC by then and just want to see how much we turn the boost up.

Excellent - I was mentally drafting an embarrassing Pistonheads "Overpowered by a rampaging Starion" post I'll be sure to be standing well back when it's on the rollers

Well it certainly looks like a fun day...
I m happy with the 11am slot..leaves me the afternoon to catch up with other stuff.
Unfortunately I wont have the money to put my 5K worth of mods on by Nov. so will just use these figures as a direct comparison with a post-install RR later in December.. he he he
So looking to do second RR .. sometime in December 2007

Is it a High Fuel GTEC 2? It's just a normal Gtech 2. I'll just put it in the for sale forum.

Is it a High Fuel GTEC 2? I've got several different chips I'll be bringing along with me if anyone wants to try them - GTEC2, Gtec2 HF, GTEC with 7,300 limit - I think that's it but will have to check to make sure.

Speaking of hotdogs, there isn't much around SRR for eats so bring yourself a packed lunch if you're planning to stay for a little while... nd given that it'll be freezing maybe a flask (although I did spy a kettle when i was there last time).

I may come to this one if there is still a spot open. Couldn't give a rats what time i'm fitted in if that helps I'm a bit concerned about running it to the red line 4th gear as I am in dire need of a remap. If my car is running dangerously lean could it pop on the rr or would they spot it and back off? I'd also love to try some of these different chips and buy the one that works out best for me if possible. A full remap really isn't on the cards anytime soon so I guess this is the next best thing. Getting the charge temps measured would be awesome also!
F****** b****** thing...

Last time I was there they did not measure the charge temps.
Your welcome to try any of the chips i have. Do you run the standard fuel reg?
If the car runs lean they will terminate the run.

Suggest everyone runs Shell V-Power who wants to try different chips as your car is least likely to det on that. its not really recommended to switch chips without a full reset. But I'll bring my emulator with me if I remember then you can try whatever chip you like (as long as I have a copy already). But I am not going to be held responsible if your car runs lean or dets!!

If the car runs lean they will terminate the run. I thought someone (Bockers) was bringing a widget that can measure them? Or is it just for his own car? No idea what a fuel reg is so I guess I am Will they still charge you though?

I dont know anything about the widget mate - dont have one.
They'll still charge for the run - takes just as long etc.
If you can get hold of a 3.8 bar reg it's an easy way to get more fuel in, but it's no substitute for getting the car mapped.

If it's a barnacle widget you mean, not the code reader(I think Phil has) you can plug the widget into someone elses car, but you need a live power feed for it. If you can get your car close enough on the rollers to mine, it should work. I'm not sure on the setup at Surrey RR though, so I don't know if you can fit two cars side by side and feed the cable across?

You cant fit 2 cars in the bay unfortunately Mark.
On another note, I tried connecting my widget to my brothers diagnostic port, leaving the widget and power feed in my car and I couldn't get it to work for some reason.

Webbo - you need to have the posi feed from the car you're trying to diagnose. We found this out at a SE meet when bockers was trying to sort out mrc's car. Trappy - come along.. i'll put you in at the end of the list. I have a 3.8Bar Reg in my glovebox if you or anyone else needs it.
