Before I go to view W202LCB which is advertised as a plus can anybody advise how I make sure it is.

I have checked the red stitching, dial surrounds, push button start and skirts and so far so good.

Will it be on the V5 or is there any indication on the VIN etc?

Anything else?

Does it have a plus kit, red brembos, a strutbrace, six speeds? Ask someone local to have a look...

Dial surrounds are nothing to do with the Coupe version/model and just an additional bit of bling

I've made a list from the buyers guide (which left off the red brembos)

So far so good

Going to visit mates in that there London anyway now, so it's a chance to get away.

So far I have

Body Kit
6 speed Box
Red strut brace and cylinder head
Different grill
8 spoke wheels
Red stitched trim and recaros
silver meter backgrounds
satin gloss starter button
net and hooks in the boot
and now red brembos

Late spec cars have what ever was lying around at the time chucked on them. Best thing to do is check that it has what YOU want , eg strut brace or 6 speed box and go from there. There is increasing blurring of the lines with late spec cars as they gradually get modified into the more valuable models.

As long as it's what you want for the money you're prepared to pay...

Well James, i own an ink black plus thats for sale and im only 20 miles from Bristol, so if you want to view another one then come on down.
Its superb......Only 75000 miles, 10 months mot, 5 months tax. New front suspension overhaul, rear discs n pads. Toyo proxes all round (new on front).
Completely standard coop other than powerfiat exhaust and new Baileys DV30 (silent). Atleast you will have a definate plus to compare the other one to!!! Pics in coops for sale section under "possible ink black plus for sale".

Reg number is so near identical i had to check up!

Only one real way to tell if a Plus is genuine and thats the body shell, LE and Plus shells are blatantly different to someone in the know. (or that fcccuking sad like myself)

Too many are imported and not called a plus overseas, so when they get here some even say 20v on the logbook not even turbo.

A genuine UK plus will say Plus on the V5, thats probably 1 in 10 though to be honest.

Make sure this isnt a shitter though, at 4k its stupendously cheap, there 7k for something right, and no doubt it LOW MILEAGE if your after it!

I paid £3800 for a heavy rear'ed one and took it apart about 8 weeks ago, thats how cheap that one is.

Well its not a UK one thats for sure, and on 6 owners now at a guess?? Should be correct.

It's on 5 owners so not a bad guess.

I've had it inspected and a few niggles aside the report came back ok apart from rad core looking dodgy and a small oil leak. Good service history.If I buy I'll stick it in for a proper big one as well.

At this price should I worry about importness?

Oil leak usually the rocker.

At that price you have 3k spare if its proper.

There's more imports knocking around that people realize, as many if not more than UK's especially in the rarer models.

People dont realise there cars are import, think they expect a big labbel on the car or v5.

Its irrelevant, all cars are technically imported where are they from??/ Doesn't matter if they stopped off on the way to save some tax does it?

I've just checked the reg against the hpi check and the car does not show as a plus.
However, when I insert my reg number it shows as a plus, so I'm thinking it's a highly spec'd 6 speeder???

Knowlesi-bang on it's a VT6 not a plus.

I wasn't in for a plus anyway, but hoped i'd found a bargain, but it looked worth it, so I bought it.

Overall the inspectors report I had done was accurate.
Suffering from a bit of buyers remorse 'cause I detected
a bit of a knock from the front suspension last night as I parked her. Not shown up on the report so either i'm overreacting or they missed it and I'll claim.

Wife complaining about lack of a/c but loves it anyway(she hates silver grey cars but loves this Moon Grey - stunning colour)

Has plus wheels - 6 speed box - push button start - late grill - no (damn) recaros - silver dials. Has a zender bodykit including spoiler which actually looks alright.

FSH - Fiat recon engine and new clutch 22k ago (72k on clock). Holds oil pressure - no turbo smoke - no ticky ticky manifold - 3 keys 1 meta fob (that works)- newish exhaust - radiator core is shot and will need doing soon.

Interior's near perfect.

Small dent in bonnet lip and the ubiquitous dent in the rear quater panels. Doors are straight. I'll wait until it's had a couple more dings and then get them all done.

Had to put up with stop start driving on M25 for about 30 miles but she managed ok and didn't over-heat. Perfect all the way back to Bristol (steady, steady, blip, steady steady).

So i did it and bought a coupe - so far so good.

What's the worst that can happen (already stuck it on the breakdown policy).

I can't thank everybody on the forum enough for all the help and advice, I'm bound to need more.

If I done bad it's all my own fault.

If its got all them vt6 bits plus recaros and even red brembos I'm surprised it hasn't got a/c, are you sure?

Not quite. Only missing a few goodies which most would say arent worth the extra premium. I do, £2000 for Recaro's is a bargain to me.

I did`nt know they made a yellow plus till Carlt spotted one and put it on here it has all the parts and has plus marked on the v5.
I was going to get a 6 and fit all the + parts as its as near to coupe perfection in my book!
Oh, and i bought the nana + he found i`m sure were the only two on the forum nice 6 bringing it to the big coupe meet?
