The fueling at the top of 5th is a bit of an odd one. It's sometimes ok up to about 6700rpm and then instantly goes to pot. The Apexi was partly to blame although further investigation might prove it is actually totally to blame! Must admit I was gutted that I couldn't go flat out all the way given it still had another 1000rpm to go \:\( Really wanted to see what times and speeds she could have done. That's not to say she wasn't very very quick mincing all 5 opponents.. next time \:D

Glad everyone likes the music (Rodrigo Y Gabriella), thought it gave the story some energy \:D

P.S. Who says coops can't launch ;\)

Can you also post the vid on Pistonheads? Someone has put 6 clips on from that meeting on there, but its all of TVR's with most of them winning... so you need to show that lot on there what really happened!!

Its easy to do, just download the WMV file and get video lan (VLC - free player).

I had similar problems with firefox, but I could download it in safari and play it on VLC..

Greg, there were plenty of very fast TVRs there a few of which had better times on the day... if the car had been running right I am certain I could have pipped them all though ;\) Not bad for a scrabble wagon \:D

The latest issue of Autocar is out which has a 3 page article covering the event by Chris Harris. The last paragraph I quote,

"He'll also need to persuade some Ferrari owners to attend. Not one fast Fiat was there last Sunday, and that was a shame"

Erm, cough COUGH... now I know what he means but it would have been nice if he had qualified that statement with a little quip about a certain Fiat Coupé flying the "Fast Fiat" flag \:P

Ross, you have failed to absorb the subtle humour that Chris Harris was trying to make. Ferrari is owned by Fiat ergo a Ferrari is a fast Fiat, this is what he was alluding to. I was alluding to the fact there was in fact a "Fast Fiat" there, ged it? ;\)

We'll all sign to say you want a written apology in next months issue...... \:D

Flea, send a tongue-in-cheek letter to the autocar letters page correcting Chris harris that there was in fact, a bangle-penned italian supercar present, albeit one you can pick up for 3K.

Go on. Go on. Go on go on go on \:D

I reckon they'd print it too.

I read that in Autocar today too and definitely think it deserves a letter.

I've been getting Autocar for the last 15 years and they've always been pretty positive about the coupe, so I think there's a good chance of getting a letter printed - especially if you include a nice photo.

Send them your video clip too - just to hammer the message home. \:D

Yep write in Flea. For a car that barely costs 1/10th of a lambo.....

Do these car magazine actually own the cars then? Or do they do a sort of long term lease? (Do chief editors get payed enough to afford lambos?)

Impressive indeed, I'm scrabbling away usually with half the amount of power your coupe has \:D But I'm terrible at properly launching the coupe anyway (way too much mechanical sympathy ;\) )
