Nope, I think I shall resist...accident still on my insurance, and it's not local...my next car will be something else I think. The n/a is running sweetly and I finally had the aircon sorted today (relay issue - there was only one and not the three you sent :confusd: - and regas needed, not the compressor)

Nice motor, notice the driver's side sill skirt has been squished, the same as mine - wonder if these can be straightened out easily or not ? On mine someone has jacked the sill skirt & bent the mounting, causing the skirt to deform.

To be honest though Vics, you will probably get more enjoyment from your NA, its very difficult to get the turbo working anywhere between here and sutton Very true, but I am cycling most days, this would be for fun on my and your private racetrack, the A3 And to think I was thinking about an SLK or TT ...the difference in price will buy a lot of tyres, turbos and manifolds

It's hard to resist! Not too far away from me either. I had to make a 1000 mile round trip (twice) when I bought mine!

Seriously though, the only way I'd go for it was if I could put mine back to standard and fit my bits and bobs to the yella fella. Not likely to happen.

With regard to the Yellow Plus. Twist's had just got this back from the bodyshop when I went to pick Bella up after the fitting of her new suspension. It is a Plus with Plus Recaros (don't think they're airbag). It's had paint to the drivers door and front bumper on passenger side. Maybe more but I'm a novice at spotting things like that. Interior needed a bit of a clean but nothing unusual. No stereo present. Back wheels showing slight bubbling and a scuff on one of the sills was being treated by touch up paint. Sorry for pointed sentences but I'm working from memory (which at 44 isn't great ) Oh, FSH and all 3 keys. Me and C2D are round the corner from this so I've no probs checking anything out for you.

Don't know about belts but can easily find out for you. Only reason I checked it out was that mine was parked next to it and it was the first Nana Plus that I'd seen. Twist's are specialists up here and do belt changes themselves so they'll be well aware if they haven't been done.

All I can say is that if I hadn't bought Bella, I'd probably go for this. They reckon it's the first yellow plus they've had (and they've sold a few coops).
Forgot to mention, engine bay looks totally new and original.

Thanks I have seen enough coupes to have an ok idea what they look like but if I think of anything... I think this may end up being a car bought without seeing...now if you fancy driving it for me listening/looking out for ticking manifolds, whining belts and smoky turbos...

I take depo's on mine as im always sure people wont walk away when they get here. Its certainly been painted its odd in the pics, but i wouldnt worry, they all get marked and scratched. 2nd one ive ever seen, thats a UK car though so no jizbags. Very cheap, its only a few thousand less miles than mine.

I thought I had come to my senses on the way into work in my lovely growly n/a ... but now I'm not so sure There are more cons than pros here ffs ... Cons1) I have never wanted a turbo, I don't need a turbo and I would never use it to the full so what's the point. I'm not sure I could cope with the extra paranoia, it's bad enough with the n/a! 2) I rarely get into fifth gear, so why on earth do I need a sixth? 3) It's a VERY long way away 4) I need carpet and a new boiler, not a new car 5) Will my ample rear fit comfortably into the recaros 6) It'll cost more to insure and maintain 7) I'm not convinced I like the bodykit 8) I like my sunroof Pros1) It's a yellow plus, the ultimate coupe for someone who loves yellow coupes 2) It has red brakes 3) It's 3 years younger and has 22k less on the clock than my n/a Hmmmm...

If you don't plan on using the turbo much and don't like the bodykit much then you'll probably don't want it Have you ever driven a turbo version? If you do a lot of town and low speed driving the N/A version will probably be far nicer to drive. The turbo is quite gutless under 3k revs, but loads of fun once over that.

Leather...mmm...carlt, first dibs on the next set of plus/20vt[6] recaros please Or do you have mint standard leather in?

Well I don't think that your cons are so bad really 1) I have never wanted a turbo, I don't need a turbo and I would never use it to the full so what's the point. I'm not sure I could cope with the extra paranoia, it's bad enough with the n/a! No-one *needs* a turbo, no-one *needs* a car that will do 155mph when our speed limit is 70, but just go and have a drive and give it a little tickle and I'm sure you'll be hooked. 2) I rarely get into fifth gear, so why on earth do I need a sixth? It's more for cruising so if you can be driving in fifth you can be using sixth and saving money on petrol so you can buy a new carpet and boiler. 3) It's a VERY long way away So what! You'll get to stetch the legs of your current coupe properly going to see it. No comment on the others and I'm not sure about it being yellow is a "pro" but then horses for courses. So just go and buy it then. On second thoughts don't buy and let Zak get it! He can then put his burgundy plus back to standard and I'll take that, swap my new suspension/strut brace onto his, put mine back to standard and then sell it. And he's near me too. Yep that's a much better idea, anyone want to buy a moon grey [6]?
Up yours Photobucket.

Vickster, if you want to have a pootle in a standard turbo so you can compare if you go and have a look, let me know.

I'm not really doing anything at work, and if I set off now I'd get there for around 2:00 - 2:30.

i just went for it now and some one has taken it for a test drive, phone back in 30 min, If this hasn't already sold, here's some more information. Full Dealer Service History. Belts haven't been done yet but will be at screen price. No stereo but a Panasonic multichanger is available at extra cost. Drivers door resprayed due to car park dings. One lady owner. I live literally round the corner from this so imagine what I'm going through knowing this is for sale and I can't afford it (unless I get a straight swap )

Right, ive just spoken to someone about them viewing my coop, they went and saw this "special" car the other day and apparently its far from being all that!
One side has pretty much been resprayed, but with a slightly off match yellow, to the point where theres orangey areas. The drivers door is covered in car park dints, not your average amount but more. The engine bay is in deed mint, but to be fair cant most be with some elbow greese etc. The owner wouldnt budge the price even when these issues were raised, with the only compromise being that he would sort cambelt prior to sale.

It's really not a bad price!! It's only had paint as it had carpark dings - they touch up all their cars as needed according to the guy I spoke to

Nice motor, notice the driver's side sill skirt has been squished, the same as mine - wonder if these can be straightened out easily or not ? On mine someone has jacked the sill skirt & bent the mounting, causing the skirt to deform. Seem to recall the press photos when the LE was launched with the squished skirts on one side

Well at least I can sleep tonight. Spent most of yesterday giving Bella long, hard looks trying to decide on a swap or not. In the end I just couldn't do it. I've finally got her the way I want her with all jobs done apart from PRV and leather. I may regret my decision but only time will tell. Good luck with it mate - I hope things go smoothly for you.

Here here...far too much to maintain and insure The Z3M will cost me £100 less for me to insure than a 20vt+ Carl - Plus or 20vt[6] recaros? How much? Possible to have first dibs on the next good black leather you get? Got Plus recaro's but there 1k, available in a week. Ill have some standard leather within a fortnight say.

Which country did yours come from carl to be a RHD? Mine came from Centro Automotive in Dusseldorf to quote the history. Was never built for the Uk hence the spec. Factory build papers slipped through as with every bit of paperwork when imported etc etc. It was bought here and registered by a company under Berlinetta. First owner and importer. So i figure it was ordered for being a Plus and a Yellow one and ordered through there for costs etc etc. Its not technically an import as it was never registered in Germany so like 50% of coupe's in the Uk doesn't mention anything on the V5 or HPI. Its a common mis conception that imports only come from other country's driving on that side, well its wrong. You can order a RHD car from somewhere in Europe and save upto 25%, same car just stops off on its travels somewhere. Its also why so many have the "wrong" details on the V5, many dont say turbo, many dont say LE or Plus just happens when there imported. My g/f's punto sporting on an 03 apparently came from Gran Canaria, just says 1.2 on the V5. Just a scam/cheap way of acquiring new cars. Oh and for anyone who has never seen a build certificate or whatever it is called exactly as in the pic up there, most of you wont its the only one ive seen there rather nice. Every detail of the car from length to weight, tyre size, build number, colour spec chassis number bla bla. Emissions outputs etc etc etc And before any memorabilia collectors ask, nope you cant have it, its to my yellow plus, with my chassis number an my original reg number, it stays with the car.

Also, BFG (British Forces Germany) cars. Bought to UK spec in Germany, tax free. Mercedes even gave a further 10% discount. The rules have probably changed since I was out there but you used to be able to buy one a year and sell it after 6 months and a certain minimum mileage. Wives could do the same. I know of at least one silver 20VT that was bought this way
