Thanks \:D I have seen enough coupes to have an ok idea what they look like but if I think of anything...

I think this may end up being a car bought without seeing...now if you fancy driving it for me listening/looking out for ticking manifolds, whining belts and smoky turbos... ;\)

Last edited by Vickster; 04/05/2007 05:16. Reason: can you hear a smoky turbo?

I'll have to add oil checking to my current repertoire of car maintenance tasks, these being putting petrol and screen-wash in and checking tyre pressures

Go for it if you want...they won't take a deposit to hold, only if go and see the car...distance is somewhat of an issue for me as it's an 8 hour round trip \:\(

I'm only teasing, but you really should make the effort.

Sounds like they arent too confident you will buy on viewing. I take depo's on mine as im always sure people wont walk away when they get here.

Its certainly been painted its odd in the pics, but i wouldnt worry, they all get marked and scratched.

2nd one ive ever seen, thats a UK car though so no jizbags.

Very cheap, its only a few thousand less miles than mine.

He said it was painted as it had parking dings -they do it with all their cars if needed...one lady owner from new, taken in p/ex, not an enthusiast but always maintained, perfect interior ... oh Lordy!

Bloody hell, even I'm tempted by this, could just PX the Skoda at that price \:o \:P

Damn my 1000 mile a week commute, damn it.

On second thoughts, go for it Vicks.

I thought I had come to my senses on the way into work in my lovely growly n/a ... but now I'm not so sure

There are more cons than pros here ffs ...

Cons

1) I have never wanted a turbo, I don't need a turbo and I would never use it to the full so what's the point. I'm not sure I could cope with the extra paranoia, it's bad enough with the n/a!

2) I rarely get into fifth gear, so why on earth do I need a sixth?

3) It's a VERY long way away

4) I need carpet and a new boiler, not a new car

5) Will my ample rear fit comfortably into the recaros

6) It'll cost more to insure and maintain

7) I'm not convinced I like the bodykit

8) I like my sunroof

Pros

1) It's a yellow plus, the ultimate coupe for someone who loves yellow coupes

2) It has red brakes

3) It's 3 years younger and has 22k less on the clock than my n/a

Hmmmm...

It'll hold it's value better than an NA, you'll be surounded by all that lovely leather, and be the envy of all your friends \:\)

If you don't plan on using the turbo much and don't like the bodykit much then you'll probably don't want it ;\)

Have you ever driven a turbo version? If you do a lot of town and low speed driving the N/A version will probably be far nicer to drive. The turbo is quite gutless under 3k revs, but loads of fun once over that.

Most of my non-coupe forum friends wouldn't have a clue or indeed care particularly

It'll hold it's value true, but the n/a doesn't really owe me much and the plus has further to fall...

Leather...mmm...carlt, first dibs on the next set of plus/20vt[6] recaros please \:D Or do you have mint standard leather in?

Well I don't think that your cons are so bad really

No-one *needs* a turbo, no-one *needs* a car that will do 155mph when our speed limit is 70, but just go and have a drive and give it a little tickle and I'm sure you'll be hooked.

It's more for cruising so if you can be driving in fifth you can be using sixth and saving money on petrol so you can buy a new carpet and boiler.

So what! \:D You'll get to stetch the legs of your current coupe properly going to see it.

No comment on the others and I'm not sure about it being yellow is a "pro" but then horses for courses.

So just go and buy it then. On second thoughts don't buy and let Zak get it! He can then put his burgundy plus back to standard and I'll take that, swap my new suspension/strut brace onto his, put mine back to standard and then sell it. And he's near me too.

Yep that's a much better idea, anyone want to buy a moon grey [6]? \:P \:D

Up yours Photobucket.

Looks like she's going to give in to the lure of a 20vt, another 20vt owner on the forum.
Come on it's got Recaro seats :#, isn't that a good enough excuse to buy ?

I'm not really doing anything at work, and if I set off now I'd get there for around 2:00 - 2:30.

I hate decisions like this!!!

Looking at their site, I can't go tomorrow and they aren't open on Sunday or presumably Monday so that's me out of the running \:\(

He's also got a Moon Grey 20VT6 with 20K+ more miles at the same price. Surely it's not worth as much as the Plus?
