As above. What suspension set up are you running and what are your results? I'm tempted to go for coilovers,(FK Highsports) Any comments?

Standard shocks with Eibach springs, the car with a kit is VERY low, have to be SO carefull on any bumps etc. Ride isnt exactly pleasant, but 'ok'.

Panic, what exactly are you looking for? If you like to take the car round the track and/or fiddle with your suspension settings then the coilovers are great. Also the height adjustability can be quite useful. But I think the bilstein/eibach combo is hard to beat in terms of comfort vs. performance. You can still drive on the motorway and bumpy backroads in reasonable comfort and go around corners with a lot more confidence than standard.
I've only been in 1 coupe with coilovers though and that was rog's ultra lowered and running on 18's coupe. The handling was very impressive, but the ride is damn harsh!

Cosmo's set up as Hyperlink above. Does me fine thank you very much but then I don't intend to go tracking my car. I wouldn't exactly call it a very comfortable set up for bumpy back roads but then I haven't tried any other set ups apart from standard and my old n/a which was very good but indeterminate as I didn't do it (and of course very different rubber).
Up yours Photobucket.

I'm fitting Eibach lowering springs and Gabriel dampers to my 20VT this weekend. Hopefully the ride will be firmer and inspire more confidence going round corners. Should also get rid of the annoying clonking sound coming from the steering. (missing lining from the seat of the spring I think?)
I'll keep you posted, Milanomarc

Front- Hotbits coilovers with dual springs, dampers adjustable for bump and rebound with remote canisters. Spherical bearing top mounts with camber adjustment, running about -1 deg. Eibach Anti-roll bar Poly bushed wishbones Sparco strut brace
Future: Seam welded subframe and lower subframe brace.
Rear- Hotbits double adjustable dampers with remote reservoir. Hotbits lowered springs. Eibach Anti-roll bar
Aye, it's ok I suppose.

Fronts: standard shocks, springs and other bits but all new/nearly new and working properly Rears: standard shocks, springs and other bits but all new/nearly new and working properly No complaints, although I need a new pair of boots which is making it a bit tramliningy (new word ) at the moment.

Fully standard at present (but new wishbones etc in Dec), with Eibach/Bilstein combo and Whiteline ARB being fitted on Tuesday - I'll let you know how different it feels Not planning on tracking the car, so wanted something better whilst still maintaining ride comfort as I use the car everyday...

Interesting on the extra toe in Joe. What have you got it set at, and how do you find it on tyre wear?
I'm guessing this is to stop tramlining and torque steer as toe out should be better for turn in?

Hi Matt, sorry, I meant Toe-out. Previous to my last track day I was playing around with settings, and really liked the extra toe-out, can't remember the settings now. It helps give a very direct front end, great for corners, however that combined with the extra camber really worsens the torque steer. You have to keep a firm hand on the wheel on an uneven surface when accelerating hard in 2nd ,.. however it really does help cornering. Its great when playing with some of the hot hatches, and being able to take tighter lines than them tbh I have not noticed any extra tyre wear particularly, the fronts are fairly even. Its worth a go, I can find out the figures tomorrow Joe

To be honest, I think the alignment monkeys have set mine to 0 deg toe in, which is not the 20VT setting as torque steer is a bit mad at the minute. I've also managed to lunch a tyre in the space of 4 weeks, so thinking maybe I'll have to check what sort of crazy camber angle that side is at after fitting poly wishbones. Is yours still an everyday car then Joe?

Yep, still I couldnt have the setup like this if I was doing a lot of back roads, thankfully its dual carriageways around here, although the small market town I live in, the roads are a bit dire However, one of te problems I've noticed with my setup, is that after fitting the poly bushed wishbones, I had to reduce the front damper settings, now its good now :(, but if I were to reduce the front dampers anymore to there fully soft setting (for the sake of ride comfort) then the front can start to get bouncy. At the moment its good, but a hard ride! Joe

I think they were K&W coilovers that I had on my old Plus, which Rog fitted when the previous owner had it. Handled pretty well I thought.
