Hi Guys, With the long winter nights almost upon us, I'm going to take the plunge and buy some HID's for my Coupe. However, there are a number of different kits out there and I was wondering if they differ a lot in quality between the different manufacturers? I would appreciate some feedback from owners experience if possible. Cheers, Den

I bought my kit about 4 months ago from Hids 4u. I can highly recommend this kit. Easy to fit, took me about 2 hrs and i'm like Clarkson when it comes to doing things on a car yourself. See here . Dave

Looking into this myself, seems an affordable and worthwhile modification. But, i'm sure i seen someone on here had upgraded the front sidelights also, to leds or something, as next to the HIDs the sidelights looked all weak and dim.
Anyone know anything about this and care to elaborate?

Mate at work does. Worthwhile if you keep them on for a long time. Useless if not IMO as they take a little while to warm up

Mine take about 15secs to warm up. Even on a short journey they are fantastic. Best mod for the coop i've done so far.

Has anybody fitted a set of Turborevs HID's yet? They're currently going for £135 in the Group Buy section.

Hey if you think driving in the UK on unlit roads is bad you wanna come over here and try it !!!!! (even though there are white lines on the road when it rains --> there might as well not be) cos ya can't see sh*te 8( So I think I may well be following the updates on the installations and reconmendation of this thread. Got back from my hols last night so I decided that as the clocks have changed I should install them today. A doddle... around 50 mins and they both fired up first time, even with engine off. To be honest I did also treat myself to a pair of new headlights from AA as my old ones were knackered. The result? Serious lighting power, just like a new car. We have a new Citroen C8 with HID's which are even better than those of my Range Rover. There is now no difference between the two cars when driving at night. The quality of this kit is excellent and the only awkward bit was having to remove the bulb retaining spring and re-installing it to get the HID bulbs in. I would seriously recommend this kit to anyone and at the price (£95 delivered), you can't go wrong.

I did HID on dipped beam. 6000k lights which are blue white. I've also changed the sidelights to white LEDs to match. However they don't show up nearly so well as the yellow lights: look better for styling but not so visible.
I've also got another kit on order for the mains so both headlamps will be HID.

Ok, the units have been in for three days now and the headlight motors still work perfectly. I positioned the ballasts underneath the lights as looking at some of the installs, these are normally mounted at the back of the headlights near the motors which I feel can potentially cause problems with the motors. The only concern I have is a lack of self-levelling for other road users. As long as these are legal for use without self-levelling and washers I'm happy... a very worth while mod. All I need now is to find out what sidelight LED's Bockers and Pinin used.
