FCCUK Bingo
The rules:
Cards are available from me and will be PM’d to anyone interested/bored enough. If you don’t have a card, you can’t win.
Each card will be made up of 36 squares. Each square will have a number that relates to one of the numbered events below. Each card will be randomly generated so no two cards should be the same.
You can only score using threads/posts that post-date this post (2.10.06). You can score using posts/threads that pre-date when your joined in. The posts don’t have to be where I have suggested they may be found to count.
You can’t score where it is your own post or if it is your post that makes the thread qualify (eg. by containing one of the oil recommendations – unless there are at least three other recommendations within the thread)
Placing (or encouraging others to place) a post to deliberately get a "score" will not count and may result in your forum posting rights being withdrawn.
You may swap up to 8 of the numbers on your card for numbers that are not on your card. All 8 do not need to be swapped at the same time. You must post on here each time you swap a number and what numbers you are swapping.
There will prizes – I guess! Leave it with me.
The outright winner will be the first person to complete their card and post the word “CASA” on this thread with a link to the thread/post that gave them their last number.
When you have completed your first horizontal vertical or diagonal line you must post on here and say whatever the Italian for vertical horizontal or diagonal (as applicable) is with a link to the thread/post that gave you the number that completed your line.
There will also be three other winners – for the first person to post in relation to each of the three possible lines, vertical, horizontal and diagonal.
Current players:
a) GraemeC b) Ed c) carlt d) Turbo_Verde e) Petep f) mitch g) stan h) wishy i) skins j) bockers k) Phil B l) Emjay

Okay the list has been updated - and a few extra added. Can't believe nobody mentioned the frozen handbrake! How soon we forget.
I'll close this shortly and then devise the cards/rules.

Phew! I was relieved when I read the first post. You should really be more considerate with your subject headers.

How about.. 1) A post criticising people for posting, and not searching; 2) A post that is sarcastic?

That's 8 people now:
Ed, stan, petep, mitch, Turbo verde, me, carlt, GrahamC.
GotAGreenOne, I'm afraid it's a bit late for suggestions, but perfect timing for joining in.
So Mr Starr - are you partaking?

TV - that is the sort of thread that is likely to crop up in the anything else section and be posted by coupecraig. You need a title that does not fully explain the topic, a reference somewhere to ginger hair (usually vickster supplies this) and craig saying "ha" or even "ha ha" or perhaps "ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha". True story!
Hope that helps.

Can i clarify the rule below
'You may elect at any time to swap up to eight of your numbers for ones that are not on your card. You must post on here when you swap a number and what you are swapping.'
So i can see a thread that is on the list, but not on my bingo card and make a swap at that time, and i can do this to a maximum of 8 times?
Or it it a one time only swap of anything between 1 and 8 numbers?

That's the fella. You take one you think you are not going to get and swap it for one you have spotted. You can do this up to 8 times - all at once or separately.
I have now clarified the rules

Thanks MJ
Sorry if I'm being thick, but can't we just swap the numbers over to make a line when the relevant posts are posted? Or is there a date when the swaps have to be in by?

Skins - you can indeed do that, but if you use your swaps up early on to do that you increase your chances of not completing your card first. And it is the person who completes their whole card who gets the stupendously big prize - probably.
Add to that that when you post up that you are swapping, you are alerting your rivals to the fact that there is a post that matches that number somewhere - a number they may have without needing to use a swap.
What a dilemma!

It was petep's post and it definitely counts - but not for petep as he posted it. If you spotted it before it was deleted, you can always keep it in reserve for a future swap.

Ed, I was in a bit of a dilemma there - I felt deleting it would be obtaining an unfair advantage, so I left it. It has now been deleted and the fact that mods can see it in the deleted section does not mean that they can still count it if they failed to spot it whilst it was "live".

I saw it (in fact posted on the thread) - will have to check my card Personally, I think it shouldnt count as it was a deliberate attempt to score points for people (although if it does count, I'll be swapping later!)

It was only posted specifically because of the Bingo, it wasn't a genuine post.

Ooh a bit of controversy and so early on. Okay, okay, I'll say it doesn't count. This is for two reasons
Firstly, it will annoy skins! Only joking!
Secondly, it's only a matter of time before we get a new all caps post! I can bide my time!!!
Just to be clear from this point on, though - deliberate posts do count.

Deliberate posting caps or trying to fulfill any other things in the "bingo" will result in a temporary suspension of your access rights. Want to put that in the bingo list?

Skins, you don't need to prove all of them - there has to be an element of trust. You only need to post links to the contribution that completes your first vertical horizontal and diagonal lines and completes your card - so this could mean posting up to links each at different times.

Skins, if what you mean is can I swap one on the second row with one in my third row - no! Any swap has to be swapping a number you have for a number you don't have and the swapped number must be put in exactly the same position

Mitch, I've got you (and me) down as being in the lead at the moment, followed by skins and Ed, then carlt and turbo verde, then stan, GraemeC, wishy and petep with bockers trailing in our wake.
And I've got all my swaps still so technically I think I am winning - unless you bu66ers have spotted ones I haven't

6 !! Pants, I only had you down for 4 - and that's with having spotted another one in the last few minutes!
I'm going to have to up my game.
I'm on 5 and I've spotted 3 more not on my list. So that means there are at least 10 out there to be grabbed!

That's weird, JimO's post vanished - but he was right.
If you check the url across the top it has a post number oin it. Replace that with the post number you want and that seems to do the job

Is this a Powerfiat thank you post? He is *obviously* posting to say thank you but doesn't actually mention those words. Naturally players without this one on their cards will object and those with will agree Is this still going BTW?

This game has come at a very bad time for me unfortunately. I'm still logged in most of the day but only really have time for the odd quick post let alone check my scorecard.
Would you believe I'm having to work for a living at the moment! It's not fair </me stamps feet up and down and storms off to room>.
Hopefully can restore normality in a couple of weeks.
Up yours Photobucket.

It really is a shame that there's now less competition, unless, of course, you're bluffing

Well I marked that one off as a definite thank you to Powerfiat (and I do wish you hadn't flagged it up ). I have spotted 14 (of which I have 9) in total now out of 36. I have no doubt that there are more. I keep seeing ones that I think are okay, only to spot that the thread predates the game (when the thread is required rather than just a post) Game on!

It's good but it's not right (and that was my conclusion on originally spotting it).

So, how is everyone doing?
If I did all my swaps, I'd need 14 more.

As it seems it's only Emjay and myself playing this now and I'm pretty sure he's going to get them all first, I'm going to be a spoilsport and make the following swaps: 51 for 23 8 for 31 14 for 66 I believe this leaves me only 3 swaps left I'd also like to say: DIAGONALE! (thanks JimO ) VERTICALE! (thanks garydivney) and ORIZZONTALE! (thanks ali_hire). I've only 13 left to fill now - 10 with swaps.

Let me have an address to send your prize(s) to. By way of revenge, and to try and annoy you back. Number 14 was there already

You can't have number 4 i'm afraid.
The rules state 'You can only score using threads/posts that post-date this post (2.10.06). '
My post about not attending due to rugby was made on the 2/10/06 before Emjay had finalised the list. I remember at the time it would be just to early to be used in the FCCUK Bingo games

Bogey Bastardo more like For 4 I didn't look at the time and as for 31: I used the search function and it pointed me to the end of the thread. How about this one for 31? Read the 'and here' link next to 24

So you have the nerve to say my 31 is invalid, as it starts on the 07/09/06, and then you list it as one of yours!
Does my amended 31 count?

Borlz! Wot an idiot! Sorry skins. I was sure I had seen a valid 31, but you're right. I don't think the other one counts either.
