cool, should you do that when you are replacing a chip as well or will it just adjust as you drive along

If you change the chip, the ECU resets automatically while you disconnect it.

probably turning the ignition to set (when the dash lights come on, but don't start it) and off about 11 times would also reset it I guess.

Failing that I bet a 80 mph head on would do the job \:D

FYI - here's another solenoid you can use. Its very similar to the perrin but w/o the daft markup its 55 yankee dollar*.

And this direct link might work...

product link worky?

All these one's should be close to plug and play with the Pierburg (they will flow differently but duty cycles is pretty universal).

However, can't help but think that the boost take off in the intake is not the best place - nearer the compressor wheel would give it better control, no?

ps) * Mr Dom is a nice chap and postage is cheap (but rather slow)
Do you use it?

i have just fitted a prv to my car as it was the only way to control the cars desire to overboost to about 1.4 to 1.5 bar, tried the perrin and the original ebv and they both failed to control the overboosting, had a couple of chips from grahaml as well so nothing wrong with the chip, would love to have kept an ebv for safety's sake but cant live the over boosting and neither i imagine could my engine for long, although i suspect it might be something else that is causing the car to overboost as with the perrin it would sometimes overboost and then not

>Do you us it?

Yes - haven't noticed any problems yet (2 weeks) - but am not hitting high boost due to dodgy fuelling.

n.b. 3 way (air) solenoid valves are very simple and very common devices, they *ought* to be cheap and reliable.
