20vt wins all round, but thats usually down to the fact most 16vt's are a bit tired now and not achiving standard power.
Ooooooh all those worn 16v cams.
In fairness though the 16vs are still great, but to drive there almost a world of difference!

Any 11 year old car will show its age somewhere, especially at the prices there fetching, people tend not to spend what they need to!

Yeh the 16v's did seem to rust more so in the bay, not seen too many 20vt's that do. Clocking, well probably 25% of coupe's on the forum will have been, something that really fcccuks me right off.

Put it this way, i sold my 16vt in silver at 4 years old with 76k on the clock.
Its on this very forum, with 75k on it 6 years later!!!!

Just shows you can never tell once a vehicle is over a certain age! People generally accept what they are being told I suppose.

exactly why you should buy on condition not the mileage showing on the speedo, i'm always suspicous of low mileage cars, clocking is a very easy way of making a fast buck.

Call me dense, but it has only just dawned on me why I have been seeing so many Coupes being driven backwards around the North Wales area. I thought they just needed a refresher course!

I am a bit tired of this never ending discussion, yes 20vt is faster than 16vt on specification, yes 16vt are older than 20vt .....
But I don't give a flying toss, plenty of 16v and 16vt are well loved and maintained by the forum members. It really depends on what much money & TLCs you are giving to your lovely car.

There are plenty of nice 16VT's out there - and they are easier to work on for a lot of engine jobs. They are also not exactly slow either!
