Spraying bodykit £450!!! #18864

Just received my first rough quote from a local body shop for priming and painting 2 LE replica skirts, 360 Front/Rear Bumpers (all from Mariousz) (spelling).

"TO PREPARE AND PAINT 2 X SIDE SKIRTS ,FRONT REAR BUMPERS
LABOUR INC PAINT AND MATERIALS £450.00"

I was thinking more like £200 or less. I think i might just ask Mariousz to spray them before he sends them if i can expect more quotes like this.

Jeez seems a bit pricey but are they fitting the skirts??

I was thinking about getting my skirts sorted soon and the Zender bumper

Bit steep to be honest. You are probably looking at that amount for prepping, spraying and fitment.

Coopless!

Just had my Zender skirts and bumpers primed, sprayed and fitted by L&M (closest Fiat "Specialists" to me) and that set me back just over £440 all in and they are considered expensive.

They even trimmed the bumper to make my FMIC fit as well. Gotta agree with Kingpleb and Pinin that the price you have been given is on the steep side.

Yup, too expensive. I've paid £450 to have the front and rear bumpers removed and painted (inc. sills), sideskirts painted and fitted, and about 4 other small areas of bodywork that needed filling and blending.

Mariusz, just wondered if you would do the LE skirts ready painted in steel grey?
If so how much would you charge all in with postage?

You'll never match red just from a paint code. Especially given the colour will have deteriated over the years.

I was over that for priming/painting and fitting of side skirts, front lips, colour coding front and back valances, new grill and tidying up of a few bumps and scrapes...

Quite a lot of work though I guess and was very happy with the results...

Even from year of production your never going to get a real colour match very hard even with paint scanners!

Mariusz - I have an FMIC - how easy is it to fit the 360 bumper? If it's fibreglass does this make cutting it difficult? I had to cut away I good deal of the standard bumper to get it back on with the FMIC...

Suba mine is fibre glass and know it wasnt difficult to cut. If I recall Rog said it was less to cut away than on the standard bumper - although I think you IC maybe bigger than mine

Fibreglass wasn't difficult to cut, but for FMIC I propose to install this bumper..
