This is my favourite pub. The Red Lion has great food, beautiful scenery and a big car park.

So the dates I propose are Saturday 23 or Sunday 24 of September. I was thinking of a Portsmouth start (Me) across to Southampton (Cooper, Adyr etc..) then up to Winchester (Highwayman, Dingo etc..) then back down to the Lion for something to eat and a few photos, then a show of our appreciation to the south cost back roads .

So what do you think, it could be the last few weeks of dry roads .

Oh my word, that's going to cause confusion with the Hemel Red Lion meets

Sounds like fun, but I have a flying competition that weekend (and besides, my car is not currently fit to be seen in public ) so I won't be able to make it.

I would've made the effort, as I've yet to meet any local coupe owners, though Cooper has mailed and we've exchanged hellos.

Unfortunately I'm off to the Dominican Republic on the 21st, so maybe next time.

Regards to you all, hope the sun shines and the roads are camera and Bill clear!

I was just thinking that it might be better to do it on the Sunday as I've just started playing rugby again and match day is Saturday.

Paul, maybe if your nerves are up to it Adyr could pick you up or myself . If you can't get off work until 1330 we could probably start at Winchester, drop down to Southampton then go to the Lion.

I could be persuaded to bring my newly sprayed and bumpered car along I suppose . May have to get clearance from 'er indoors, as the Coupe is not her favourite thing at the moment .

It might be best for me to meet up with you guys locally and then let you blast off to the pub, as I may have little ones in tow to get my pass . Maybe we could meet up near Tescos again, although I could perhaps suggest somewhere that isn't quite as public . Halfords/Currys is about 100yds away, and their car park is a lot quieter....

I would be there for the next one, this is definatly my closest meet but i have a series of niggly problems with the coop (strange clocking noises, fuses that keep falling out of the fuse holder, a clicking noise when i turn the cockpit fan on) not to mention my slipping clutch. So i'd be mightily embarrised and fearfull of my car just plain conking out at the side of the M27.

Do one on a sunday in Late october and i should be there.

Edit. Truffle it might be a good opportunity for someone to have a look at her and maybe diagnose some of the clocks and knocks.

seems an ideal time for your 'friendly local coupe expert goons' to diagnose your problems..(that's us by the way )

what time and where then?

As Cooper is limited by work, how about meeting somewhere near him at 1.30 and then go on to the Red Lion at Horndean? Not sure what time they finish serving lunch, but I'm sure that they'll still be serving drinks and we can make use of their car park .

Hello my southern friends i'll make a note of the date now and keep it free (24th time and place to be arranged by the sounds off it ) Hows about 14.00/14.30 next to Sainsburys petrol station Hedge End should be quite enough on a Sunday, also give cooper a help

I was going to say lets call it 14:30 so cooper can clear his coupe but I doubt that's gona happen . Seriously though if Paul is the only person who has other arrangements then I'm happy to start when you're ready.

Sounds like a good start point Adyr.

Righty i now know that i AM working next sunday, but not till 6 or possibly 8PM. So i should be able to make this. I'm gonna ring the 'rents tomorrow and see if they would be so kind as to lend me some cash to get the car looked at before the meet. If they can then it'll just be a matter of how big a job the work is as to whether i'll be there in MY car or a Fiat Punto courtesy car

Right well just spoken to the 'rents and although i can borrow some money for the car it wont be for a couple of weeks so thats my plan scuppered.

Barring any terminal problem i'll still come along but just be prepared to wince if you take a look under her or take a ride in her.

(also can anyone bring axle stands and a trolley jack so that i really can get tha most out of some free technical advice while its available?)

((preferably BEFORE people start drinking in the pub ))

Forgot about this

Phil is quite right, as I'm the only one who can't make it at anytime, I could call 007 or Adyr when i finish work and meet you all at the pub.

If you do arrange to meet at 1400, I seem to remember every meet I've been to tend to hang around a couple of hours before we set off. So 1300 would be perfect!!!! my work is 5 mins away from sainsburys Hedge End and 15 mins away from Winchester tesco.

Paul

Unlike Rocky's wife our Adrian (didn't know if Adyr spells Adyr if you know what I mean ) isn't shy and goes well, at least not when his got that GO pedal under his right foot.

I think a medal needs to be awarded to Truffle, every post I've seen his name in recently has got a like to this meet on it. GREAT STUFF!!

I've just sent a few P.M.s to other members that have posted on South Coasts meets before. Sorry if they sounded a little impersonal but they were sent out in bulk.

By the way the misses want to know if any of the WAGS are going?

Truffle I'll pack some stands and jack.

I don't know what Adyrs sounds like from inside but I do know that WHEN he overtake you on full chat and you've got your window down it sounds like Concorde taking off.

I'll be outside Burger King (sunday breakfast u know ) at tower park in Bournemouth from 12 Midday untill i think it's time to move on.

So anyone in the area thats going to this meet, stop by here and we'll shimmy on up there. kb2133, i really dont know the area between Bomo and the M27 very well as all i do is drive in a straight line and it seems to get me where i need to go

I'll PM my mobile number, give us a call from 11am onwards and we can try to sort something.

I'll be there at 14.00/14.30 next to Sainsbury's petrol station Hedge End with NO G.F. (So no rev limiter and traction control is switch off ) If anything changes Cooper and I'll P.M. it to Truffle.

Cheers, Chris.

Bit risky putting my mobile number on a public forum but anyone in the bournemouth/poole area can ring me on 07856 116832 as i wont now be at Tower Park.

Me n Piers are gonna make our way to kevs at about 1.15 ish. Anyone in the area that wants to come along should give me a bell.

Good to see some old faces, nice to see some new ones. A good turn out, sorry I couldn't stay for long, hope the drive went well for you all.

I want Adyr's exhaust !

Actually Adyr i think has the prime 16vt, the rear lights pods, the zender kit and the lowered-ness of it just looked georgous. Everytime I went passed pull back inside wind down the window and await gods fury as it came passed

No one broke down but i almost ran out of fuel coming home After we hit traffic at Ringwood area, my fuel light came on so i had to cruise the rest of the way.

I'll post the pics as soon as i can find the camera lead.

Oh and many thanks to all those who stuck their head under my car. I was extremely please to find out that no one could see anything serious. Adyr was even kind enough to get his hands dirty to make sure she was in good nick.

Sorry I couldn't hang around for the photoshoot guys, or though from the look of that centrefold shot, maybe I'm not ! Where was Becky then ....

Glad you enjoyed the cross country blast back Webbo, they turned out to be pretty good roads that I found ! If you fancy a blast round the country lanes near me anytime, just PM me .

Thanks to Chris for organising the afternoon. As has already been said, it was nice to meet everyone, both old and new . See you all again next time!

Phil

Yeah, it dose look like I'm enjoying that pose a little to much.

Becky got a little shy after you guys went . Did I say she loved your PIU bumper Phil.

Also the landlord told me that if we did want to do a Christmas bash there we could have a room to ourselves round the back (if we could get more numbers) and Becky WILL be severing . I'll not post anything this month but I'll get more info in October and see what everyone thinks then.

Cheers everyone, had a very good day. Great fun listening to a train of coops roaring past you at speed.

Ady, my plan had been to give you the bird and then zoooom off into the distance... didn't quite work!
