Being an old git (over 40 OK?) with full NCB driving a stock 20v, I am still shocked by how much my insurance is .

The cheapest quote on confused.com is £376 from Kwikfit(R&SA) but that is with a £400 excess.

My current insurer Norwich Union is around the £500 mark with £120 excess

Are there any other brokers anyone could recommend who do monthly instalments and are cheaper?

My advice would be not to trust confused.com.

Try the insurance friendly companies - Elephant, Admiral, Bell, Noel Dazely, etc. and you should be able to get it down quite a bit.

Dear monos, a secret truth.

There's lots of post re insurance companies but personally found Noel Dazeley the best. Like you I'm old - and indeed some would say a git - but on £430 fully comp, protected and with breakdown cover much to my relief as I had to get the coop towed to the garage today as I had total failure with the clutch cylinder . 2 hours later though - back on the road This premium exl mod loading and a £250 xs. Hope this gives a benchmark?

Yes, tried money supermarket, and got a quote from Bell that was around £150 cheaper than Direct Line.

Scooby warned me off confused, so have been using MS since.
