A tad earlier this year thankfully so it won't coincide with the 30th anniversary event at Turin!

We'll pre-meet as usual at the Steading carpark for those from this area, and rendezvous at Carefraemill for those coming from the south. More details to follow.

* I need to submit a full list of names/vehicles by mid - April. *

We've only got 3 names so far, we'll need a couple more to make this a goer.

Details require submission to the organisers by mid-April, i.e. 3 weeks from now...

Thirlstane is very good.

There is a very large collection of vehicles of all types, cars, commercials. Military, buses.

There is an arena with displays

Lots to see and do over a large area.

You can also pay extra to go into the castle.

I've been twice with young grandsons, and none of us have been bored.

I recommend Irn Bru flavoured ice cream

Alan, Paul, can you ping me over the £10 entry fee please which I've just paid up front smile

Once I get the paperwork back from BVAC I'll confirm rendezvous details thumb

Paul, Alan, we need to be in position by 1030 so let's hook up at the Carfraemill Inn again for 1000 hrs?

Guys, here is this year's layout at Thirlestane.

I'll hand over the car ID plates when we meet up at Carfraemill on Sunday.

Phew ! What a scorcher !

Sun out all day on a massive range of random cars and vehicles.
Our cars looked great.

Good chats in our gazebo, once we got it up !

I'm going to need some welding come MOT time and needed to hear comments from other owners.
Alan has been in a similar situation recently and knew exactly where I was coming from and Simon provided common sense.

I really recommend that you try and meet up with other club members. Most of them have been in the same position as you, or you can support others.

Paul

Yep, in spite of us being only 3 this time, it was a good opportunity to christen the Coleman event shelter under the Scottish heavens which mercifully beamed down the whole day.

The organisers had almost cancelled the event 2 days earlier as the incessant rain had created quagmires over the hilly terrain but luckily Saturday's sun dried out most of it - I say most, our pitch was right next to a dip which was so boggy Paul got stuck on arrival - twice! We got him moving the first time but subsequently had to call the ground's 4x4 to tow him back onto firmer ground with good grace as well as technique smile

The bad news was that some wheel-spinning had covered his beautifully polished wine-red with mud spatters frown But the team stepped up and soon had it all spick-and-span again, aided by young-grandson-fan who's always in granpa Paul's company at these things - great effort smile

The real oddity came in the afternoon when a bloke wearing a stetson poked his head round saying he wanted to join the forum; I could have jumped over a doll's house when I discovered whom he actually was......none other than the phantom owner of 'abandoned' T5** BAN which was the subject of this thread smile

Hello Alan

Disappointing news I'm afraid.

We couldn't find Irn Bru flavour ice cream !

However, there was a haggis neeps and tatties stall.
