Anyone got a link for a supplier with stock, I've bought 3x sets from different suppliers over the past week and all of them have refunded me because of being out of stock
Amazon trader refunded me this morning as well so if anyone has an old set they'd like to sell please contact me as it's the last items needed to go in the box before I ship a full cam belt kit etc to America, kinda desperate now!
I've messaged the first link to see if they have stock, the second one was the Amazon purchase.
With any suppliers I have to take a chance they're correct as they're listed for 20v n/a and turbo and the locks are different for those models, can't believe how much of a headache this has being!
I have a used set you could have, if I can find them, if no luck with the above links.
I was going to try 3D Scanning and printing them, but couldn't get a decent 3D scan using a structured light scanner, apparently it needs a very expensive (around £5K) laser scanner to scan down the holes properly.
Due to their scarcity the Club intends to purchase a set of these cam locks and a DTC gauge.
These would be available on loan for any Club member who feels confident enough with the spanners to carry out their own belts change. A refundable deposit would be required to cover the cost of loss or damage to the unit.
The purchases will be made when the items already on order above have been verified as being the correct size.
As there has been some caution regarding the accuracy of these remanufactured camlocks I have contacted the seller again who has replied promptly thus:
Hi i think you will be ok We have sold a lot of this product over the years and had no complaints
Hope this helps
I have also taken them up to our tried and trusted Alfa dealer where our local coupé owners get all their work done and asked both the senior chaps to compare them with their own sets (one of which we borrowed to do the belts on our project 20vt).
The cut-outs are not quite in the same position but perhaps the attached photos can provoke some thoughts...
(bolts have been passed through the holes to align the cut-outs)
