Re payment - I'm using the First Direct app and I'm unable to complete payment as it's asking for an address and one hasn't been provided in the payment details but I I must be missing something! What's everyone else using Alan, We used Western Union app yesterday, opened an account, transferred the amount, and it was delivered to the account today and we had a confirmation from Western Union and then Club del Coupe Fiat. I did the same.

I paid direct from my German bank - which isn't helpful to anyone else of course , but I pay me from my UK bank account (Barclays) simply as a 'pay overseas' transfer - just needs an IBAN number and an account name. No fee when you do it but the transfer is a couple of percent below the current BOE exchange rate, as it is for all the money transfer companies. Just out of interest, if anyone needs to regularly transfer money, or make payments between currencies, then do take a look at the Wise Bank (including the app). It gives me a multi-currency Debit Card, pays interest on money held and transfers or payments in the same currency are fee-free. Currency conversion is at mid-market rate (the best you will get) with a fee of 0.5% on any conversion. Most payments between countries take about 5 seconds to complete! Obviously, living in France it is particularly useful, on a daily basis, but could equally be so for holiday payments etc. Paul

Okay, I thought it was time to do a bit of pre-indulging as a foil to the knitty-gritty of money, accommodation, paperwork etc. Perhaps compared to previous Turin events this one has appeared somewhat drawn-out; this hasn't been helped by the recent LEZ imposed on the city and the need to negotiate permissions for our coupés to enter it without penalty. It seems though that being the 'parent' city has encouraged the Municipality to look favourably on this event and support some opportunities to move around Turin, park our cars and expose them in a couple of piazzas in the city, close to each other, both with the Po river and Turin hills as a backdrop - excellent for photoshoots. The intel we are receiving is that all authorised car registration numbers will be provided to the police in order to facilitate any journeys made within the LEZ, and that any journey to a hotel within the LEZ is permitted also (neither Borgaro Torinese hotel nor Hotel Diamante Collegno is in the zone). On Friday, Sunday and Monday travel by car will be through 'allowed' routes. Weather for June is usually sunny but not too hot, average 25C H to 18C L. Eating: In Turin lunch time is generally between 12.30 and 2 p.m. and dinner between 7.30 and 9.30 p.m., a bit earlier compared to Southern Italy. Some useful tips re food etiquetteFor those that haven't visited previously Turin video

To suit the etiquette guide , here's the obligatory bad joke, conveniently translated into Italian by the google robot: "Possiamo prenotare un tavolo per ventisei, per favore, per l'ultima cena?" "Ma siete solo tredici!" "Sì, ma vogliamo sederci tutti dalla stessa parte..." Neil

From what I am seeing in the program, Sunday will be the main day of the event, with police escort in the city center. Saturday looks like no trip within the LEZ ("12.30 pm Transfer to the city center by subway for lunch on your own and possible visits to museums").

Saturday looks like no trip within the LEZ ("12.30 pm Transfer to the city center by subway for lunch on your own and possible visits to museums"). True, but before that it states: Saturday 15 June
08.30 am Departure for parking at Lingotto Park and subsequent visit to the Automobile Museum (MAuto)
09.30 am Meeting at Lingotto Park in via Nizza 294 and transfer on foot to MAuto in Corso Unità d'Italia 40
10.00 am Visit to MAuto (about 2 hours)
12.30 pm Transfer to the city center by subway for lunch on your own and possible visits to museums...Lingotto Park is on the southern side of the city and just within the LEZ but the route migth be to skirt around the zone and enter it along a permitted route to Lingotto. It will be important for us to stick to the advice we are given.

So much to see and do in Turin with some great covered shopping arcades and obviously plenty of fine restaurants. Here are a few suggestions of things to do in the free time, but be sure, if you take a tram or bus anywhere, validate your ticket as step on and avoid being fined.
The Fiat Museum - Centro Storico Fiat. It's not too far from the Lingotto and interesting for all things FIAT.
There is an old rack railway that takes you up to the Basilica of Superga. A fantastic building and it offers fantastic views over the city.
The Mole Antonelliana / Cinema Museum, in the city, is interesting but that glass elevator is far from great if you are not a fan of heights!
During the 20th anniversary event club member Antony (Boosted7) and his Father had arranged a trip to an abandoned city centre railway station. I don't know how they arranged it but it was certainly very interesting.
If you fancy something a little different, it is possible to seek out Italian Job filming locations. It took a long time for Trish to catch on that's what we are doing, which amused Adam and me.

REMINDER:
When registrations reach 100 crews then it will close.
By my calculations there are now 22 places left - unless you have already registered and are waiting for final confirmation you'd better be quick!

I am so pleased that M-AUO is included as part of this trip. Last time I tried to visit it was closed for refurbishment.

It's really odd to see only one attending From Poland. There were so many guys at the 2014 event and they were really helpful guys, especially when there were any incidents. Also missing the chaps from Norway, who persuaded me to attend their meet in Alesund, along with Neil, and also sadly Heiki from Finland.
