washed, claybar, polished and finally waxed at 10 in the dark... probably wake up to a crono grey coupe in the morning. Glad you chaps have so much time on your hands! Well I've polished the bonnet..... Radios DG? I didn't know you had radios?

Lucky to have kind weather all day and great company as always, also to see plenty of kids getting into the swing of joining in with their wacky parents Top marks to Dianne and Paul in particular for their major commitment in joining us for all too short a time, especially as fate caused a delay or two for those coming north in getting the day kicked off. Our wee convoy of around a half dozen coupes turned not a few heads in many places and en route Eee it's good fun driving these

Thanks, Jimboy! Shame you couldn't make it. Here is an attempt to show all the cars that attended- we seemed to fail to get a group-parking shot..

yes great to see everyone again and to meet Paul and Claire. Shame we missed out on the ice cream, looked good!! Had a good journey back to Tain then next morning got caught up in a slow moving convoy of 40 of Landrovers, tightly packed moving at 30-40mph. Paul had plenty of time to count them all, he was not a happy passenger, Managed to take 20 at once on the only straight on A99 then hopscotched the rest just before the Berriedale Braes. Considering the A9/99 are notorious for fatal accidents due to frustration, (lot of folk are trying to catch the ferries and on a tight schedule) this was pretty poor car club behaviour.
Thanks for the photos, always good to see, probably will not make Xmas lunch a bit too far for us mainly due to weather and travel conditions. However, look forward to hearing the planning for the next big tour. Once again, thank you to Simon and Jim for looking after us and planning the trip.

You are very kind- mostly Simon's effort, I think...!
Very glad to hear that you got back safe.
Yes- I'm beginning to know that part of the world very well, Dianne- coming South, the Berriedale Braes can be a good moment to overtake going up the hill- but I wouldn't want to do it going downwards!
40 land rovers! I would think our own touring efforts would be hampered by such numbers- lucky there's not many of us left! That can't have made for a very satisfying drive can it- for anyone involved!
You are right about the statistics- I read once that the A9/99 section there, is the most dangerous section of road in Scotland. Closely followed by the Devils Gorge in the Lake District, not a good place if you ride a superbike at over 150mph, then you go airborne.....

Perhaps there's a moral to that story, Scouse...?! Possibly, but the place is quite eerie.

First attempt at uploading some video footage. Found the clunky camera mounting with all its angle adjustments was so long as to be a bit wobbly, but have sorted that for another occasion. Perthshire coupe meet - straightest roads ever Working on another couple of short clips, hopefully less hypnotic.... Still working on West Coast Tour material

I quite like the model car on the dash, should you ever breakdown you could brum it about in a layby while waiting for a tow. Decided that sat. nav. voice very dodgy, used to have Norwegian in works van, I learned quite a bit. Lovely accent.
