Totally agree with the comments about the SICD show. There are excellent car shows that have lots going on that we could enter as a club. The One at Thirlestane Castle that I've posted and the Fife Historic Vehicle Club Festival of Transport -19th June 2016 This takes place at the Scottish Bus Museum just North of Dunfermline. Clicky I've visited both of these and they are excellent day out. Lots of varied car clubs attend. Video of Thirlestane Show.

Video works now I've contacted Thirlestane and had a very positive response and have forwarded the idea to SAROC. Also contacted Callendar House in Falkirk.

Talking of journeys home I wonder how Rob40 got on going back to Carlisle.....
Didn't get back til after 8.30. Sat and nattered for ages but couldn't help noticing all the cars that were getting turned back by the Alfa 'police' and forcing them to take the dirt track out of the park. Incidentally, I didn't see them refuse the Ferraris or the 4Cs I went straight for the entrance and was approached by Mr Jobsworth. He told me I had to take the other exit so I told him I would, as long as he paid for a new bumper and for anything else that would possibly get damaged. After still refusing to let me by, I just drove straight through 2 of the big upright posts and carried on to where we came in. I was hoping he would give chase is something exotic but was disappointed. Couldn't quite make out what he was saying as I waved goodbye, I'm assuming some form of pleasantries or other Well worth the journey from Carlisle, my friend thoroughly enjoyed the experience, first Italian meet for him. I'm slowly converting him from the German side to something a little less reliable but much more soulful He's halfway there as I class him as a Ducatiphile! Great to see my friends again and to make new acquaintances, and the weather was just superb. The drive home was err, rather noisy but put a smile on my face
This is how it should have come out of Torino!

Turned up but coupes were cordoned off with the tape around them, felt a bit of an ignored plum sitting outside of the show area so I buggered off lol, think you can see the body language towards my car in the pics http://www.fiatcoupeclub.org/forum/imagepopup.php?image=http://i591.photobucket.com/albums/ss354/Edinburgh_photo/DSC02779_zpsuxm1ajpg.jpg Some cracking cars there though and a nice day. Funny about the Ferrari's etc getting the easy, clean entrance in.Sort of thought that to myself driving up the dirty little,no way these Ferrari's came up here! And I was right.

Sorted the pic for you robbo, sorry not to have met you. I've written a stiff letter to the organisers about the dirt track - thought I'd sorted it last year Said we may well look elsewhere for next year's event and have invited them to investigate Thirlestane who are definitely interested and maybe Callendar Park in Falkirk if they reply.... Now I've got your coupe, it's the one parked for a short while in the tyre fitters at Ratcliffe Terrace in Edinburgh last year! I spoke to the owner but perhaps he sold it on to you? Somebody on Sunday did tell me they thought that was the case....

This is the one I've been desperately trying to remember, thank you. We went there 2? years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. I was there 2 years ago as well Jim and thoroughly enjoyed it too. Lots to see and do.

We don't need SICD to enter Thirlestane Show or any of the great car shows that exist.. We can enter as Fiat Coupe club, with one of the many other mixed car clubs or as individuals. SICD moving to Callender Park won't solve the problem of lack of; Stalls, entertainment, or public interest in a very narrow range of cars. I don't understand the loyalty we seem to have to such a poor show.!

Yes this is true - the events organiser has suggested the following for example For your Fiat Coupe club, perhaps we could offer something different, say a drive and dine event to include a private tour and lunch? For some of the smaller clubs, they come along on days the castle is open and we make space on the gravel area directly in front of the castle. However it would be a lot better for us as part of a big event which would include the peripheral entertainment for family etc.

Great to see and speak to a few of you. I really enjoyed the show and like Edinburgh have complained about the fram track in the past. I dont think anything will change though. I did my marshalling bit and was told the other entrance is purely because of the lower exotics. But come to think about, Product placement. What do the public see first, exotics and are more likely to buy a ticket to come in, which as I am sure Cairnie fruit farm take a cut. The reason I enjoy it so much is that as far as I know it is the only dedicated Italian car day in Scotland. What do we do, organise our own and invite all the clubs. It will take a lot of planning and I think SAROC do a very good job. I will certainly attend next year but if there is another show for Italians with trade stands, autojumbles and things for the rest of the family to do all the better. I will have to do some thinking as we must as an Italian car community be able to do a show that ticks the boxes for more people. Yep was good to catch up with you Russell, and your brother, to be fair I did praise the management in my email today for the way they pulled the threads together as it's no overnight job organising this sort of thing. The back track as you say and as you've read is very contentious and is a threat to future attendance for some which is a shame.

There is no issue with where the Exotics are parked it's the fact that they can enter by an easy flat route. Lots of other cars have lowered suspension. Still wouldn't make me attend with my car or as a paying punter.

Baz was also bemoaning the lack of entertainment at SICD show and asking about this one at the weekend. So he may come along.

Right we, i.e. FCCUK, have been accepted to exhibit at next year's Borders Vintage Automobile Extravaganza. They'll contact me as soon as the initial notices go out. As far as I'm concerned this will be our "meet" at this time of year, although of course anyone wishing to attend an SICD day if it's in Cairnie's Fruit Farm is quite entitled to do so. I will put the idea to SAROC, in fairness, but I get the impression the venue may be too far away for their liking. I'm fair chuffed with this

I'm with Rosso on that, although I accept the disappointment in advance. That is terrific Simon- good effort- Thankyou for negotiating that on behalf of us. (Do you think we've arranged it early enough for next year's event though? I know the amount of prep you put into a show, and I see you've started getting ready for it already- hope you can finish in the next 363 days...)

I would probably still attend sicd was it is the only dedicated Italian car event.
This is the bit I don't get folks! And nobody seems to be able to answer Why do we need a small dedicated Italian Car show. What is it you get at the SICD dedicated Italian car show(apart from charged)that you don't get at any other all encompassing car show? There were just as many exotic Italian cars on show at Thirlestane Castle on Sunday than there were at Cairnie Fruit Farm the week before, with a massive range of other interesting cars and car related stalls and entertainment., And you don't pay to put your car in the show and they even give entrants a gift!. I genuinely don't see the attraction of attending it. Please someone tell me!
