Anyone wanted to know what cold weather and a little traffic does to the real world mpg of a 5.0 V8 supercharged 1800kg car.... click to enlarge

This is sat on my drive after my commute home.
The other side of what owning a 'super saloon'!

I've reset a few trips on the old computer and I must say the average mpg is appauling.
More bank account emptying numbers will follow. Along with what it's like to drive in the wet and wind and cold.
Come on summer!!!

Yup. It's my XF.
Bloody Road works + cold temps so heated stuff switched on. It was at 4.2 mpg after first 6 miles....

I once did a half-day off-roading in Wifey's Range Rover - averaged about 3mpg, but the average speed was well under 10mph, so not too surprising

Mind you, unleaded was about 75p/litre at the time

Super is £1.049....
Thing is, it's worth it so I don't really care!
If I brim the tank the range only says 235 miles so it could never get much worse.....

Blimey laugh I think that's worse than I could manage. I was showing 8.2mpg after 2.5 miles in heavy traffic earlier. That was at 8mph average. My commute is 8 miles there and back and I'm seeing about 15mpg.

See, I've been thinking about this. I like the quiet jag-ness. I don't like the shouty mercs or I would have bought one of them instead. In the coupe I like the exaggerated 5 pot, the spool up whistle and the induction noise that took me 3 years to get right. The jag I like as a jag. A gentleman's sledgehammer.

I've seen an average of 12.5 this week but I do have heated everything on!

Then it might dissapoint....... If I want noise I want balls out noise, if it's a quiet assassin then it needs to just simply destroy other road users without sounding like any effort was involved.
