I couldn't resist the idea of putting this cast-off radio alarm to good use so thanks to the electrical expertise of my local Good Samaritan it's now up and running, especially for the cricket on R5 Live Sports Extra cool

Er, I know it's bulky but it's invisible under the seat and the internal DAB aerial means no need for a windscreen-attached job cool

Cheers Jim thumb

Couldn't agree more Nigel, an opinion also offered by the chap that wired it to be fair, suggesting that perhaps an app could be downloaded on to a phone. But it would still need connecting....

The lack of aerial helps though as does the fact the whole thing sits out of sight. The two cables are the most obvious, but then so is a phone charger. And maybe a sat nav.

The installed set-up all works fine for everything except for R5L Sports Extra whose cricket commentaries I'll be able to plug into whenever smile

Oh and it would have helped if I coiled/concealed the cable and moved Mrs Ed's plastic bag laugh

If you have an app downloaded to your smartphone, you could connect wirelessly to your headunit via bluetooth. Would probably mean that you need a new headunit though laugh
