weather is set fair for the next fortnight, so no excuses!

can i just check that the plan is to meet at the tea rooms at broughton at 11.00? we'll be coming up from carlisle and so there are a couple of ways of getting there.

just so that I don't do the same road twice, is the plan to get to moffat from broughton via the little road from tweedsmuir to st mary's loch and down the A708? If it is, i'll come up via moffat and the A701.

see you sun

Rich we'll aim to leave the tea rooms by 11.00 and head for Tweedsmuir and cut off toward Talla and Megget Reservoirs then St Mary's Loch.

I think this was the original idea proposed by my Honourable Secretary, fingers crossed or I'm in soapy box

Leaving tea rooms at 11am.

Anyone not going to tea rooms?
I may give them a call and warn them to expect us.

Spent a bit of time today preparing. Car is cleaned, polished and waxed. Wheels cleaned and waxed. Tyres scrubbed, dressed and pressures checked. She's ready to dance.
See you all tomorrow ladies and gents. smile

Really enjoyed it today. Stunning views, blazing sunshine and most importantly honest, decent, friendly, respectable people. Thank you all for a great day.

yes- lovely to meet everyone (some of you again) properly!

and lovely to find ourselves at the Scottish Skimming Finals also!!

stunning weather and drives; great company over lunch, lots of laughs.

Parts of Scotland I wouldn't even have said were in Scotland!?

I think doing it again- I'd try to stay overnight in Moffat- if we'd all stayed overnight it would have been great!!

It was like a big family outing with a big family I never even knew we had...!

As above, great family day for young and old, nothing too heavy and the best of sunny weather floated along above us.
A surprise and welcome visit from Rob40 in his Rosso 2.4 beast who forgot to bring his barbecue rolleyes laugh
and good to meet Barney too at last released from his desk in Baku even if he was slumming it in an mighty atom 300 bhp VX 220 laugh

The kids taught us how to play skimmers on the reservoir and we turned a head or two arriving in Moffat for lunch, very acoustically friendly smile

I think I speak not only for myself when I say that I think we are all holding out for "the footage from the silver car"...!

(however, work and home life being what they are- an undefined point in the future of time will suffice!!)

I'm afraid you will be disappointed as the footage is not great - as it was the uninitiated Legolites - Sofia and Lewis who took the exterior clips with the monopod. Suffice to say they are not great. Young Michael who has used it before and has an excellent eye and photographic skills, was sitting on the wrong side of the car to be able to use it. He was also in Bernard's car part of the journey. I had meant to get the tripod and camera out the boot and get a proper group photo at the Hotel but alas forgot. So I'm even more annoyed because that was the best part of going to that cloud9 Hotel.

The few stills I took are just the same as the others that have been posted.

I'll go check Michael's Pics, though he said his were not great.

Just thought, for quickness, I'd let everyone know that the hotel has refunded the correct amount of money which was overcharged - anyone can make mistakes and I feel that they should be given credit for owning up to it smile

We'll just be more vigilant next time!
