After the 'eventful' Monaco GP, the show crosses the pond to Montreal.

One of my favourite races on the calendar which I hope is spiced up with some Eng v Ger tussles.

And lets pray for some rain too smile

Predictions -

Quali
Hamilton
Rosberg
Ricciardo

Race
As above zzz

It's already happened. Note the familiar walk of indignation.

Apparently, current Grands Prix are not exciting...

Shame we missed two overtakes in the last couple of laps from Jenson, and a real pity about the smash on the last lap, but overall a cracking race.

Kudos to Ricciardo!

Remarkable that both cars missed Vettel at the end.

Bit gutting for Lewis but at least he took it like a man. Nico did very well to hold on and Riccardo was a worthy winner.

Good race.

Good race, nice to see all the cars so close at the end. Feel sorry for massa / Williams.
Surely if your brakes are failing / feel like a sponge then for safteys sake you should have consideration on the end of a 200 mph straight and move off the line. Perez could of had massa parked on his head if positioning was a few inches different.

Was anyone else kinda cheering for Massa to catch up and overtake everyone? Amazed they missed Vettel in the crash too.

I enjoyed the race. Shame about Lewis losing out after his rear brake problems & Rosberg benefited from learning of his problems and they shifted the bias towards the front. Still don't know how Rosbery got away with going straight on at the chicane without a penalty.

I was definitely cheering for Massa. Nasty crash - 27g apparently.

Very odd that both Mercs had the problem simultaneously. I don't buy that Rosberg got preferential treatment, I think the team just wanted to salvage anything it could.

I was impressed that Vettel seemed genuinely pleased for his team-mate, despite being outdriven once again.

If F1 wants to improve "the show", they should just hold all the races in Montreal!

I'm sure I recall a Montreal race where there were only five survivors finishers.

Like Nobby and Jim, I was cheering for Massa, it was good to see Williams back in the running again.

I think the 1998 Canadian Grand Prix was one of the most eventful I can remember.

Pleased Ricciardo got his first victory. Great overtake on Perez.

Impressed with Rosberg's handling of his MGU-K failure and nursing his brakes.

Mind you thought he was lucky to get away with a warning following his off track excursion.

Shifty, the Beeb were reporting it as that.

Great race. Nice to see Rosberg hold his line in the first corner.

That's incredible, who does Massa think he is Moses laugh
He does like a whinge...although he has been through the mill, would be funny if it wasn't so dangerous

Without the benefit of all the data, I think it does look very harsh on Perez, but presumably they can tell more than the naked eye. Although it's very easy to say that Force India shouldn't have allowed Perez to continue with a brake issue (so said Rob Smedley), I think any team would keep a driver out if they believed the issue was cured and they were on for a podium finish.

Was very much cheering for Massa, but still I also think he was partly responsible for the crash. Right when he started the move I said 'now very much to the left and dive to the inside so he can block...' and then it was BANG. He should have left more space!!

About the Rosberg going straight: I think it was Kvyat who also went straight on a few rounds before. They didn't give him a penalty so think they treated Rosberg likewise - although he DID get a warning which I think was justified considering the circumstances. Another one and he'd have been byebye to the pits.

As for the failing of the Mercs - I thought it was incredible how they kept the rest at bay with 160 bhp less. goes to show how low the drag is on those Mercs and how much high-end power they still have. I'm half expecting some kind of F-duct / double diffuser / ... story to be behind it, but it's really amazing.

As for Ferrari - come on guys, you ALWAYS lag behind at the start of the season, but really you should pick it up now.

I really hope we'll see Williams back on the podium (1st please) this year.

Oh... all in all - I actually got excited about the race and the drama and the catching-up! Looking forward to the next one now.
