I can see Uruguay quickly arranging 8 back to back friendlies with The Solomon Islands over the next couple of months.

Putting my neck out a bit here but

I think it's a fair punishment to be honest, he is going to miss the rest of the world cup at a time where Uruguay could have gone on to win it, he's let his country down massively, I'd imagine there's alot of angry Uruguayan supporters, Liverpool supporters, people who have supported him through all of the controversy over his career.

As a Liverpool supporter I think if Real Madrid or Barcelona come in with a bid they need to sell.

Fun fact for you all...

Statistically you're more likely to get bitten by Suarez than a great white shark!

I suppose the reason I'm thinking it's lenient is two-fold.

1. This is his third offence and his ban (in game terms) is not that much more harsh than his last punishment.

2. The maximum ban FIFA can impose is 24 months. If a third biting offence is 4 months, what in the hell do you have to do to get anywhere near the maximum ban? I'd honestly love to know what is 6 times worse than this. Stabbing the ref?

Another great game, evenly matched and the best first half I've seen.
Hulks denied goal was harsh balanced by chile hitting the post...
Great penalty shoot out

Think you've got fun? The missus is Brazilian, and she went and hid for the shootout... I had to do commentary, but only if there were goals!

A fantastic game. Exactly what the World Cup should be about.

Gutted for Chile but the majority of their penalties were poor.

Couldn't be uglier than Spain v Netherlands in the last final. If Messi turns up, I still fancy Argentina to reach the final. Not at all sure they would beat this German side, though!

I remember the Germany Argentina final in 1990, it was much worse frown

I really don't like the German football team, but I am so pleased to see them destroy the "Great" Brazil.

NONE of the football pundits predicted this, yet they are ALL now trying to back pedal and big up ze Germans. [YAWN]

Just hope the Cloggies can dispose of Argentina and then meet the Germans on Sunday.

The 3rd/4th game is a truly awful ordeal and should be stopped. It's the equivalent of kissing your Granny goodbye and her slipping her tongue in. hurl

It's funny - there's actually a sense here in Amsterdam that the Dutch might be best going out quietly in the semis than being humiliated by the Germans in the final! I think they're just nervous about how that could shape up.

Although the Germans are undoubtedly a good side, last night's result was a freak occurrence against a poor Brazilian side robbed of its only 2 talismanic players. Germany's results in some of the other games in the tournament are more realistic. I believe that either Holland or (in my view, more likely) Argentina will give the Germans a more stern test, possibly even a bloody nose.
What an intriguing World Cup!

The only surprise about last night is the fact that anyones surprised by it. Brazil have been terrible at the back all tournament and the first time they came up against a side with more than 1 quality player, they got found out.

I don't rate Argentina much either so lets hope its an all euro final.
