Update: just bumped into (not literally) MCMike and Sedicivalvole at a services near Dijon. First coupes seen on the trip.

Fuel update: super is a about 1.70euro and 95 is 1.63.

Wierdly the Calais services is the cheapest by far.

40mpg for first 250miles in UK
34mpg so far in France. I blame mrs G for her heavy right foot.

Next town - Lyon then onto Chambery.

I'm already in my hotel on the outskirts of Lyon, will hopefully meet up with the Chambery crowd tomorrow morning, but Alan M (arm) is due to join me later. Only managed 29.5 mpg from first fill (and that was with Tesco 99) but hope to get into low 30's with current tank. Seen hardly any Fiats, let alone any Coupes.

Jake and I booked in at the holiday inn around 2.30pm, nice hotel with lots of secure underground parking.
Entrance is just to the left of the main doors, pull up to the barrier arm, push button and grab a ticket to enter. Lifts from below to the lobby so no need to stop upstairs first to check in.

With the lunch tomorrow has anyone got the address to hand so I can programme the sat nag?

We too are in the Hotel in Turin, almost ran Joe over outside, not for the first time eh Joe

Not quite sure what's going on tomorrow. From having NO plans our hosts now seem to be talking about lunch at the Hotel and setting off at 12.00. They aim to be at the factory / museum by 13:00 (At the latest!)

This was clearly not part of the original instruction and is something that those who are not at the Hotel this evening would know about



FWIW I have to wait for Adam to arrive at the Hotel in the morning. He's coming from the Airport and I've told him to take a taxi (Quicker). So I will aim to meet the rest of you, as we have planned.

So, we must try to be inside restaurant at 12:00, and finish at 13:00!

Presented Chris with a book, which he seemed to enjoy; got a couple signed for Joe and myself. He was *very* impressed at the length of time I'd had it, suggested I must be some sort of 'enthusiast', whatever one of those is. But no-one has yet dared ask him if the rumour about the shape of the lights is true - though it's been the subject of some discussion!

And then there was apparently some sort of emergency in town, and the police motorbike crew took great delight in closing all the road junctions and rushing a convoy of a couple of hundred coupes through the city at high speed, two or three abreast, and to the great approval of the populace.
