Thinking of doing my roof in black gloss cellulose paint as in Edinburgh's profile photo. Has anyone else used this paint before and does it last well or fade more than normal paint. I wondered how much this would cost to do this. Might be a trip down malvern way !! Also how long would this take to do as I use this car daily for work.

It might be worth seeing if that effect can be done with a wrap (which is easy to remove)incase you want to sell the car and generally more people like a car to be standard-ish...

also, being a 16v , i have the black skirts, but someone before i owned the car has put a textured covering over the black smooth skirts. Would this have been done to protect the skirts [ rust proofing ? ]as i wish they hadnt done it, as i think it looks better smooth.I suppose i could sand these down to their original form and paint over. Havent seen another coop anywhere where this has been done.?

I would not use cell gloss black mate its rubbish
being a single pack paint i would not bother
only way is use a cell black base coat then a
2k
clear coat or use a 2k clear coat in matt
gives it a hard wearing finish or go straight
for a gloss black 2k with a fast acting hardner
That way you dont need to clear coat

And if you use 2k, make sure you have an air fed mask. The amount of warnings I have read about using this paint without the proper equipment can put you in hospital

Don't spray 2k in your garage with the doors shut and no mask!
It makes you feel proper rough!!
