Just daydreaming and surfing the web reading about the new Lambo and it's got a part carbon chassis...
So like my carbon framed racer, if I drop it and there’s a crack it is essentially written off. Is this the same for cars using carbon in their make up and who decides if it can be repaired and who then signs off the repair? I've had a little look and I can't find many firms set up to do this...with more and more expensive cars using this material there must be a growing demand for this service?

Dunno the exact answer, but after watching plenty of programmes on Discovery channel they certainly do Carbon repairs in-situ.

Edit: Remember most chassis are made of multiple sections so depending on the damage cars can be dismantled and fitted with new sections too.

I'd guess most of these repairs need to be repaired by the original manufacturers. I also assume that depending on the category of damage a re MOT/VOSA inspection is needed for roadworthiness.
