i think the world of F1 has forgotten this ledgend.

just looking back at some old F1 footage and he really did make the sport interesting!!

this has got to be one of my best clips of senna racing with 2 other F1 giants!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WjGj7ukDbBo&feature=related

watching the other clips, how much more fun was F1 back in the 90's??

this one is also good to watch! shame abpout the music...

I don't think Ayrton will ever be forgotten, but Formula 1 always has and always will be about looking forward.

While his death was a tragedy, things move on. Heck, even Jenson Button's championship glory last year driving for Brawn, already seems old.

He'll never ever be forgotten. A truly superb driver and by all accounts, a wonderful gentleman too.

Sadly missed frown

I want an NSX now.........

My all-time sporting hero.

It's gutting that I don't go out of my way to watch F1 anymore. I couldn't tell you where it went wrong but those 90's clips put today's f1 in the shade.

Ayrton would probably wipe the the floor with the modern crowd, as he could drive without all the "extras", not to say the new crowd have no talent, which I know the do & are gifted, but I'd love to see a lap between Hamilton & Senna ( in a SeNNY )...

oops, had to slip that in ! cool

He is my idol.

A great man and many think of him as being fast but he was a very good defender. That is what I think is missing from F1 today. Ayrton also didn't think about winning all the championships, he would make a car he felt 100% happy with in every race and aim for first everytime.

He was obviously a legend, but I think drivers of equal ability are certainly out there, and indeed in F1 at the moment. Don't forget, they've not only made overtaking more difficult with the aero packages, but they've also made defending very difficult, with some serious clamping down on 'weaving' or 'breaking a tow' - so he'd be stymied by the same regulations as all the guys today.

I think he would have had a couple of schumi's titles off him though, such a shame.

Agree I was a big fan of Ayertons but there are other good drivers out there today. I'll stick my neck out and say I think Lewis is most like him out of the current crop. A proper racer smile

Apart from being priced insanely expensive... It was also only loaned to Sena - so not specifically 'owned'.

Just watched one of my Christmas pressies...

Senna DVD. Learned a whole load about F1 and related stuff as well as the spat between him and Prost.

A really good watch, I was riveted. And this incredible skill in wet conditions!

What a legend.

It is a cracking good film, but it does overplay the negative side of the relationship with Prost, painting the Frenchman rather too much as the villain. This is a man who was a pall-bearer at Senna's funeral and a trustee of his foundation; they were fierce racing rivals but not deadly enemies.
