Has nobody got anything to say about a 'sporting' event that's occuring this weekend in Brazil?

Im not generally a malicious person, but I can't help hoping to hear news of a close personal meeting between a barrier and a certain German.

Has anyone seen any of the Blancpain series on Motors TV, or the highlights on Ch4?

It has everything F1 should have...

Often there are over 60 cars starting the races, some really close racing and sometimes the cars even fail to make it to the finish or loose out for having to replace brakes etc rolleyes

I was so impressed with this years series that I plan to try and take in at least two events next year.

My colleague has this on, at work.

He has just received a barage of abuse from some of the younger guys.... "More Boring than Snooker, Darts & Cricket" apparently....

The other two of us found it odd that Red Bull could not have found waltzing matilda sung by someone other than Rolf Harris rolleyes smile

Now why haven't *all* the races this season been like that?

Apart from Vettel leading the whole race, bar about 4 corners, it was quite interesting. If Massa's drive-through was a bit harsh, I thought Hamilton was very unlucky; we've seen far less ambiguous situations go unsanctioned this season.
If 4th and 6th can be counted as a good result for McLaren, it says it all about their season, yet both Button and Perez had good drives. I'm not a fan of Perez, but he gained more places today than Button and hopefully did enough to retain a place in F1. Crazy though it may seem, Hulkenberg could be the loser if Lotus are forced to take Maldo's millions (assuming they aren't all contractually stuck with Williams, of course). If Pastor manages to get his bum on the other Lotus seat, then Hulkenberg's options are not hugely appetising; stay at Sauber (probably the best deal on offer, as long as the Russians show up with his wages...) or return to Force India (whose co-owners both have a few money worries). There is mischievous talk that Lotus might show Grosjean the door in favour of the Hulk, but I don't believe it.

Whatshername on the BBC said its 100+ days until the next GP; how I hope that something arises to prevent me thinking a tenner on Vettel for the Drivers' championship is a nailed-on cert,

Hopefully the reg. changes will see to that Jim, it took redbull a long time to sort out their KERS and now they have twice the power and 3 times the input length and 1000 degrees of turbo heat to deal with whilst sorting out ERS.

I think next season will be marred by engine failures (down to 5) and running out of fuel (only 100kgs allowed per race). We may also see lots of expensive carbon fibre fires!!

Red Bull have traditionally focused on getting their "package" as compact as possible which (I believe) led to a lot of their KERS issues. As you point out, those will not get better given the new ERS/turbo combo.

Not to take anything away from Vettel's achievement of winning so many races in a season, but when you look at the level of regulation-enforced reliability of cars today compared with 10 or 20 years ago when they were overengineered if they didn't break down on lap (race distance)+1, it does make it more likely that the fastest car will win more races rather than go POP.

It's the compactness that may be the destructive force, they will need a large charge cooler as well as all the items they have now, the drop in nose height will be interesting as will the lack of hot air on rear wings - although I'm sure someone will hatch a plan on that one!
