Thinking of laying up the Coupe over winter and keeping in a secure garage. As the car is only worth around £1k mark, is there any point insuring it if I declare it as SORN?

Worst case scenario - fire or theft (both fairly unlikely) I'd lose £1k. Any ideas of whether it is worth it and how much it costs for "laid up insurance"?

With your excess I'd say not worth it for a £1k car.

Depends on your circumstance and the state of your garage but I don't bother with my X1/9 over winter. I guess you have weight up the odds of a tree failing on your garage or a lightning strike...
