I have removed the link due to comments of some unsuitable driving on public roads.
FCCUK do not condone any driving as such.
On other terms, good to see Joes coupe making some big power in sparco's old shell and DLT's nearly finished.
Im sure Barbz may push some more boundaries this year when this dam snow goes.
300bhp for me would be considered big power.

Isn't the last pic jbt's coupe? It is Joe, I was lucky enough to see it on the rollers last week. Very impressive. You'll need to be VERY lucky to see it on the road.... Sorry John, couldn't resist it!! You can slap me tomorrow...

Most importantly managed by the superb Syvecs S6.
I'll bet a Mars bar this will set the best 1/4 time You going fit a Toucan dash and run the flex fuel? Let me know when you see Ryan G, I'll pass by.

Has everyone given up on building high powered Coupes, as it's been very quiet for a long time now. Oh yes indeed, my speciality bruva! As D-day draws near here's a preview of whats to come.... Can't believe that the Coupe tuning scene has gone from strength to strength over the past 2 years. Torque Italia Stage 3 OEM Lambo White GTX'D Quaife'D (Big thanks to Johnny Bigfoot) And the brakes to match. Most importantly managed by the superb Syvecs S6.Est HP 500+ on pump gas. Next Torque Italia Stage 4 GT3076-56trim Quaife'D(Big thanks to Johnny Bigfoot) DTA Engine management.Est HP 500 on pump gas. Alfa GTA 330mm brakes. GTX'D Quaife'D(Big thanks to Johnny Bigfoot) Syvecs S6 Engine management.Est HP 500+ on pump gas. Ahh, one of my favourites. Torque Italia Stage 5 2.5L GTX'D Quaife'D(Big thanks to Johnny Bigfoot) Omex 710 Engine management.Est HP 600+ on pump gas. Making a gut wrenching 297hp @ 3000rpm At 1 bar it tickles 507hp, 410trq @ 6500rpm. much more to come naturally. All will be revealed very soon..... Note: As for Santa Pod, a well know member has smashed the long standing time on pump fuel! LOL!. I will leave that for him to comment What's all this about the record 1/4 time being smashed?? Do tell!? Dave

looking forward to finding out, I'm amazed the record stood so long, not discrediting the amazing achievement in the first place but with the latest developments in the last couple of years I'd have thought it would've been improved upon earlier.

Oh yeah I understand a 1310kg fwd coupe is not the best candidate for drag racing compared to a tin can civic with 700hp but people are getting more power out of these cars now I would have thought somebody might have had a go.
Almost any car including impreza's, evo's,, mustangs will break gearboxes on a dragstrip due to the extreme shock off the line, gearbox development then moves on to allow them to go quicker.
It would be nice if there was a rolling acceleration competition
Nigel did you ever have a go at that 30-130 event the MLR boys originally started?

Nigel did you ever have a go at that 30-130 event the MLR boys originally started? I considered it, but by then we had Specky in his 600+ bhp Tigra who was taking FWD honours wherever he went. At the last TOTB I entered, Specky came in the top ten overall in the top speed run - amazing car. A Coupe is simply too heavy to do well in any acceleration event. Even with massive weight saving, you'll struggle to get it to a tonne. However, show the Coupe some bends and it comes into its own - far more fun.

I think your all missing the point here. What do you expect from a 15 year old Italian car.
When people mention times what they fail to realise is a production fq300 Evo and an Audi Rs6 cannot break 13's For me that's the benchmark of a quick car.
The coupe is an excellent drag weapon,as I proved a few months back.
The point here being that my car went down the strip as the only road car. By road I mean Fuel Seats No cage No weight saving No trailer Macdonalds wrappers Driven there and back Etc etc The only non road item were the drag slicks. I drove it there, did 9 runs and drive it back with a boot full of tools and several costa coffee cups for company.
Many cars Didnt,so as for reliability I don't know why people condemn this car. What else that cost 10k running over 600bhp could you comfortably do this in. The only cars quicker than me are barely recognisable as cars. Not to undermine them but there strictly a 1/4 mile car .
Some of them have spent over 500k and only driven the car for 500 seconds over 3 years.
All coupes including my own can hold there own at the strip,be abused on the track, cruise on the motorway and then be picturesque next to almost anything. So is it really worth taking away everything to gain a few seconds?
I would rather conquer the big guns around 30 corners than one straight.
Maybe a handful of cars ever produced are as versatile.

Coupes are one of the worst cars to launch with really poor 60ft times. Luckily the long 3rd gear makes up for that.

Driveshafts are very close to the subframe with the engine hung well in front of the car. Very much like riding a powerful motorbike. Lean forward to get the power down. Just looking at the design, launching is exceptional as is grip even without an LSD. But should induce massive under steer as it sometimes does in stock form. The loss of grip lies with the rear suspension.

I partially agree - getting 1.5 tonnes moving from standstill in a FWD turbo'd car is not at all easy. In all of my many runs down the strip, I never got below 2 seconds for the 60-foot, with my best being a 2.01 on the way to a 12.38 et I'm really tempted to try it again (now that I'm running a Quaife), but my adrenaline always trumps my mechanical sympathy and I can't afford to break any more bits

Without full dot rated slicks a 2.01 sec 60ft for a big bhp fwd really is not bad at all
