Hi Dave, I live in Dubai and work in AD, if you're over Dubai way then give me a shout +971 O5O 6I2 7II2 . I'm in AD during the week and usually pop to Yas Mall for lunch, it would be nice to see you

It was Crayola blue, iPad crayola, The bridge is only 20 mins away so I will take a real camera and get some shots done properly one day.

Pack your shorts, it flippin hot and humid at the moment, around 47'C in AD.

Actually, Ramadan starts this week Dave so not a good time to come over, if you can delay your visit until 18th July you may enjoy it more?

She's a beaut Jimbo.

You'll never guess what I've done to mine lately - yep the DRC failed and was leaking at the MOT. 3 frantic days later and I've ditched the lot for Bilstein PSS coilovers. Sits lower now. I'm also £1200 poorer frown

A move you won't regret Chris, I love the Billy PSS on my Scirocco, did you go for the iRC option so it's switchable from the cockpit?

If my DRC fails with these springs fitted then that's my plan B to go with the Billy's.

Will you have to go for an uprated anti-roll bar now you've lost the anti-roll function of the DRC?

I'm surprised how much more forgiving the Eibach springs are compared to the standard spring. Eibach haven't released this spring for the RS5, it was a spring made for the S5 but the weights are identical so not an issue, they didn't lower as much as the H&R spring would have done but I prefer this look to the slammed look.

Mine have fixed damping - no iRC available for the C5. I could have got PSS9 (the B16 shock) which have compression adjustment but they were another £500.

Will probably get some ARBs eventually but just wait a while for finances to ease. Also I've only just bought front and rear poly bushes so didn't want to waste them. My DRC was completely screwed - leaking damper, leaking pipe and leaking control valve. At least £1300 in parts to fix and the other valve could have broken next week for another £900 bill.

15mpg wouldn't be difficult, it goes into single figures if you press on, low single figures at that shocked

I'm averaging around 28mpg so not too bad for a revvy V8 .

How does it ride on the Billy's Chris? I'm guessing they set the damping around halfway between what would be comfort and dynamic?

To help me with the mourning process of the Scirocco leaving, I'm buying a few treats for the Audi to try and squeeze a few extra HP out of the notoriously difficult to tune V8.
The Eventuri Inlet has proved to be quite successful in a recent development test, they managed to find another 19whp as an average gain, with the best gain being 33whp, not bad from an air filter kit but looking at the standard set up, you can see how it would become restrictive at high revs.

Here's a CAD of the inlet

The finished item will be 100% carbon pre preg in a cloth which matches the Audi's engine cover
I think I'll then fit either the Akropovic or Capristo exhaust which are both advertised to gain between 8-10hp. So hopefully a total 30hp gain will be noticeable and the sound of the V8 even better.
Shockingly, petrol prices have just gone up here, super unleaded is now £0.37 L ooo

Sounds great Jimbo. Bet the exhaust will sound mega!

Do the rs5 suffer from carbon build up by the way?

I believe so Chris, I was hoping the higher inlet temps here would stop the oil sludge buildup forming but speaking to the Audi tech, he said they still see it.

These came up at a great price, all brand new and in its original packaging from Audi, just waiting on the ceramic rears from an RS7 and I'll do the install all at once. The reduction in unsprung weight is aprox 6kg per corner, I had them out the box when they were delivered and they really are feather weights compared to the standard brakes.

Induction kit is only a few weeks from being complete now

My car comes with a carbon engine cover in the same weave carbon so it should look nice and gain around 20bhp.

I didnt realise the new V8's suffered from coking up which is a shame but from what ive been reading just making sure you give it abit of a kicking once in awhile will stop the build up. I dont believe it fully but they are designed to be revved.

Im in the Process of buying a B7 RS4 avant but finding one with the right spec is proving to be a hard job frown

Have I missed the pictures of the new RS5 on this thread, or has it not arrived yet?

I was at the Audi dealer the other day getting the gearbox oil replaced and there was a Sepang Blue RS5 there... I hate to say it but this car could steal my dream of having an Aston in retirement shocked confused

Probably time for an update on this build. It's been steadily improved over the past 2 years to a point I'm very happy with, as with most of my coupe mods, the suspension and unsprung weight has been reduced dramatically which really makes a difference in this heavy beast.

Just a Capristo exhaust and a few updated bushes to be installed next week and it's project complete.

Here's a few pics of the journey:

How are the ceramic breaks over there? I assume they'll keep temperature better than in most places so be even sharper??

Looking good.

They can become a little grabby in slow traffic, fine if you're gentle on the pedal. They are incredibly strong and completely fade free and should last the life of the car.

Chris, yes, it was a toss up between the Akrapovic and Capristo, I love the fact the Capristo can switch between quiet as standard and insane.

Thanks for the comments everyone.

I just admit I'm thinking of getting some valves for my miltek. They do di valvesonic now but it's only for newer models.

This one has a miltek with Hayward and Scott valves

My car came with the Audi sports exhaust which is valved but it switches between silent and pretty tame so not exactly what I'd call "sports".

It's a nice feature, if the option is there then I'd go for it Chris.

It's a shame 98% of this is under the car and not seen.

Thanks Si,

It's a very understated car from the factory, I've just tried to make it a bit more of a wolf in ninja sheeps clothing. Ninja sheep with sharp teeth.
