Returned to the coupe after a day at work on Monday to find some thoughtful soul had smashed the drivers side window

The glove compartment was open as I guessed they looking for the front panel of the head unit which luckilly I had taken off and put it in the boot. The only thing that was stolen was the empty case for the front panel . A Volvo parked nearby had also had the same treatment.

Reported it to the police and surprisingly they actually seemed interested and sent out a forensic team to check for fingerprints or blood, unfortunetly there was no blood.
or fingerprints.

So i'm down £65 in excess fees, the coupe has a new pane of glass and the car crime statistics go up a notch.

Gary

Blimey, they must have been really bored!! Don't normally bother their backsides for car breakins!

Sorry to hear it, but at least the only damage was the window.

Gary it's unfortunate that this has happened to you but look on the positive side, its only cost £65 and hasn't impacted your insurance premium.

I had a similar experience a few months ago but the moron who broke into mine must have had a phobia about smashing glass as he ended up causing £1500 worth of damage trying to get in every other possible way.

I fancy investing in that film that can be applied as a tint that doesnt break, not cheap but i guess your insurance company would love it and bring down your premium.

Its bad luck when this happens I had it done on the C2 on the notorious edge lane in liverpool while me and 3 mates were in the car at about 3am one morning.

Does anyone know if the coop has deadlocks at all?

That's why I always leave my glove box open when I leave the car. A simple biro propped vertically does the trick nicely.
