The main difference between the two controllers is that the HDI is open loop only, and the Gizzmo has open/closed loop functionality. In short, this means a single duty cycle for the HDI so the the turbo will perform according to natural efficiency. With closed loop it will vary the duty cycle in order to try and maintain a target boost pressure, so at high rpms this duty will increase. This pushes the turbo harder and sometimes out of efficiency, but ultimately a turbo can only flow so much, therefore it is still possible for boost to drop off regardless of duty cycle. Efficiency is everything!

Exactly where I put mine. Easy to see and easy to use. I'm half-thinking of removing my boost gauge from the top of the dashboard..... chinny

After a couple of hours, umming and erring, cutting measuring and faffing on, finally decided mines going right here

..hope I never have to remove it though biglaugh

Big thanks to dad! Couldn't have done it without him, well I could, but it would probably "or" should I say definitely be squint, cockeyed or I'd have half the bloody dash strip scratched to bits... laugh

Booked in with barbz on monday for installation/setup a decat, and a service. I reckon the long drive down will be well worth the fun, long, musical drive back laugh

I'm going to try and put mine in the metal dash like Angelo's above. Can someone tell me what's behind the metal strip just there ? Will I have to cut the plastic dash behind ? I assume there are loads of wires back there ?

I had to cut a little bit of the plastic dash, but only a tiny bit using a dremmel. the only wires behind it, that you will hit if your not careful are the dash tweeter wires, I just taped them up out of the way. Apart from that your good mate smile

Thanks Angelo. Purchased a spare metal dash from ebay on which to do the deed.
