Hi there folks, i'm new to the forum and i have been looking for a coupe for a good while now. For insurance purposes i have been trying to find a half decent non-turbo in decent nick. My mate Roger Morgan has 2L 20v turbo plus in sprint blue, currently running 500bhp and is a weapon and knows his stuff. So if anyone has any tips for buying one then just mail me. My budget is £600 or somewhere near that.
Cheers smile

Hi and welcome smile

Although you may be able to pick up someone's cast-off for that kind of money, unless you are strong on nuts and bolts, patient, a hoarder of elastoplast and have access to an oilwell you'd be looking at £600 coops with a good deal of chinny laugh

Hi and welcome. wave

I would second what Edinburgh says above, my first coop was purchased for £850 last April and has been on axle stands since this February, with roughly 3 times the purchase cost already spent and quite a ways still to go.

Its a good thing he's known me for close of 20years then wink

There will be a few 20v n/a out with minus tax/ mot and needing a new cambelt that you can pick up for your budget, forum is a great way to put forward your interest in the car etc,

I'm sure there will be some out there looking for a quick sale, i would advise a couple of months saving and get what you want. I'm sure the guys on here will help you out! laugh

Thanks mate. All the pointers from everyone are much appreciated. As for the hair cuts, i sport a different look to what Roger has but the man pulls it off smile I'll check insurance for a turbo model and see what the crack is and let you all know, that way i can see what one's are available and go from there. Cheers.

Bah!

I don't know what your all talking about, I got my 20v for just £350!

All it needed was tyres.

And a clutch slave cylinder.

And a clutch master cylinder.

And brake disks.

And a service.

And a cambelt next year.

See? Easy!

Hello and welcome!

Got mine for £650 needing:

pads + disks all round
all calipers over hauled
cambelt and aux belts
much rust removed
respray
so far....

But I knew this when I bought it, and I love it to bits!
