Not trying to have a dig, but the above quote did make me chuckle. It sounds like that because of what you saw personally saw on the TV he should be penalised. I reckon they need to have a bit more evidence than what you saw at home laugh

Also if they can't find evidence of either a green ro yellow flag then surely he is innocent. Innocent until proven guilty and all that.

Why wasn't this dealt with at the time?

Surely the race stewards are watching the same footage we are at home (or at least have access to it). I clearly remember Sky showing several replays of this and the commentators discussing it.

As others have said, whatever happens it doesn't do the sport any good. I don't agree with most, if any, of these post event inquiries. They should be dealt with atthe time or at least flagged up as under investigation.

hmmmmm though if they go back far enough and look at all the what ifs and maybees, could haves and would haves, pehaps they can reinstate Lewis and appoint him the winner laugh

What happened happened. Vettel won (and a great win it was too) end of story

I think there turned out to be two passing under yellows incidents.

The Kobyashi incident was shown during the show.
The Jean Eric Vergne one seems to be new.

Presumably if you went through all the in car footage of all the other drivers after the event you'd find minor infringements too, you could penalise the lot of them, and perhaps 2 weeks after the race the stewards could decide who had won.

I agree with post race enquiries with a view to clearing up future rulings and also the safety of those on track. I don't agree that it should impact the result as it was a very early lap and Vettel would have caught back up under the first safety car had the penalty been awarded and still gone on to win.
I also can't believe Alonso would want to win by default rather than by winning races - even with all the money involved.

The FIA say there is no case to answer as it were.

Roll on next year.

I see what you mean. All I meant was that if he passed under yellows (which to me it looked like he did, track lights, dash lights and the flag indication) then he should be penalised, if not, he shouldn't.
