Thanks. Very little activity on here today, is everyone working on their cars? At least the forecast has saved me the trouble of washing them.

Dad's just had his wheel bearing done at Motormech, so he's got no excuse now I reckon there's some foul play here though, it's funny how the day before an event where Nigel isn't guaranteed victory, his Coupé develops a mysterious oil leak ... Maybe it's just having a bit of a wee with the prospect of my brother/Nigel's eldest son behind the wheel

Lol! It's lashing down here ... a few miles away! I was holding out, to see if I could at least get there in the dry. But it looks like I'llbe bringing the daily run-about and not the Westy.

Let's see if anyone has any opinions about Curborough in the wet! It's slippery..... Couldn't even get the power down at base boost - front tyres are on the wear-bars which was just too much to ask of them

Well that was fun I think it was JBT that got the quickest time with a 1.14.8. Thanks to all those that helped out with the running of things. Hope next time is a bit drier.

BUT as we were timing to 2 decimal places only, there was a 3 way tie between JBT, Sandytim and Fishy Dave, so well done to all of those at 1.15!!! It was very wet, it was cold and it was miserable, but what a great day and good to see so many hardened coopsters out there (and the other lads). Begbie had a 300 mile round-trip, so fair play to him

Great fun as usual, just a shame it was too wet to bring the Indy. Cheers for the rides out in Senny Dave's chauffeur-driven 7 series and Fishy Dave's Caterham and Celica. Who'd have known they made a RWD celica The 7 series looked like a barge, but actually handled very tidily. Begbie's car really impressed. That'll be a monster in the dry Looking forward to the next one

Proccy as im sorry I said fat.m was quicker than you.its unfair that the only 14sec time gets taken away. Your hair looked great you were faster than him and you looked slender as always.
Seriously though many thanks to Paul for organising this and for those who spent the day in the rain on the flags. Highlight was going out with sennydave in the v8 BMW until Dave kindly took me for a lap in the caterham. Scared the living day lights out of me and all credit to the best driver out there, for controlling it in such conditions. My car was great and I have never had to concentrate so hard. Was a constant fight to keep it on the track whilst pushing the times more and more .
Look forward to the next one.

You're more than welcome to a passenger ride in mine Now THAT would have been interesting eh Dean? Agree Shame that when THAT happened my camera run out of memory and the mp4 file is corrupted - I cannot open it! Can anyone help? Also, car pissed me off just when I was about to set my fastest lap time the gear linkage came off the pin again - wooohooo! JBT - thanks for your help and for the passenger ride in your rocket! It was goo fun and it was good to meet new fellow coupe owners and attach names to faces. Thank you everyone involved in organising the day.

Great fun, completely knackered now and driving home was somewhat interesting with all the standing water on the motorways!! Video's I'll do tomorrow, including my flymo incident and my expertly caught slide into the first corner Jack, shame your video has buggered up But your wheels and helmet are in the garage until the next Ace meet. Thanks to the flag people, timing people and everyone who stood out in the rain

My 1st time at curborough shame I didn't take my own coupè but apart from the cold wet rain it was a good day, watching you all try your best to get the fastest yet safest times from your cars, meeting some new faces and old friends, a few slips n slides but all went well Can I just say a big thank you to the lads that did there bit in helping with flags and timing, that way everyone gets a fair share of track time, and porkypaul you did a great job off today from organising the day, collecting payments, keys and setting the track up so it was safe to use, you did a grand job, looking forward to the next track day where I shall hopefully be in attendance with my own coupè work permitting

A cracking (if damp!) day out ... and great to meet old faces and new It was a real shame that I couldn't bring the Westy out to play ... with no roof, it would have turned into swimming pool I tried my best to squeeze a decent time out of my Seat but its peak speed down the straight of 60 was hampering my efforts somewhat! Some great driving on display though ... with particular mention to Fishy, JBT and Senny Dave. Also to Sandy Tim, for his dark horse performance. Finally a massive thank you to PorkyPaul for organising such a great day, and to all the people who took turns on the start Roll on the next one (hopefully dry!)
