My mate works for Aston, he told me about this a while ago.
It's something to do with still being able to produce certain number of high emission cars they needed to produce a low emission car also. Averaging out ?
I think he said it comes to them as a complete finished car then they strip back, respray it & fit all the Aston parts.

My neighbour at my new house is a Aston Martin test engineer, he's got the new 4 door Aston at the mo. Looks great in the flesh.
Before that he was running about in pearl'ish white v12 Vantage. Jammy git.

Lambo is owned by VW and Ferrari by Fiat, so no problem with the average emission there.

There was a lot of talk about Volvo cars going too but this does not seem to have materialised yet.

A marque like Aston, should remain a marque at the top end of the salary range, not that a hoody can buy with his dole money.

Its based on the Toyota IQ - and its hardly dole money .....£30K!!!!

To be fair its so that Aston Martin can comply with the EU fleet average emission standards - but its still awful.

....Just imagine telling a new potential Lady friend you drove an Aston....and turning up in that!

Its far worse than that - the early ones are £40k "special editions", and you can only have one if you already have a "proper" Aston Martin as well
