As Bockers said and whose wise words seem to have been ignored.
Good quality calendars are expensive to produce.
The club has never made any money with the 3 we produced, at best we have broken even, which was all we have ever set out to do.
If you do go the calendar route you need to broaden your target audience considerably.
There simply are not enough people on this forum prepared to pay the money needed to generate a decent profit.
Even one of the most ardent protagonists of doing a calendar this year failed to put his hand in his pocket and actually buy one.
Going for cheap low quality printing is not the way to go either, you need to see the standard that the large charities are producing and their prices.
They are pretty clued up about the price/quality mix that will make them money and they have economies of scale on their side.

Still bitter about that...after organising it all the poster boy gets front view :-( Great pic and a great day out though! I can feel a KENILWORTH meet coming up with the usual local paps in tow
Sad to see so many neah sayers...as mentioned I will chat to DCT and float the idea, maybe we can brand it as a DCT calendar with fiat coupe enthusiasts providing the flesh, personally I'm not blind to barriers but like to give things a chance to grow wings, maybe it will happen maybe it won't If you've got nothing positive to input then don't.

If you've got nothing positive to input then don't. I assume that was in part aimed at me cjh. If you want to spend a lot of time and effort for not very much cash for your charity, then a top quality Fiat Coupe only semi-nude calendar is the way to go.

Erm, there is no need for that attitude. It has nothing to do with pete telling you not to raise money for terminally ill children. If you actually read his post properly without getting offended at the first bit of feedback. You will see that he was offering you advice in order to make as much money for your chairty as possible. Personally i agree with pete and think you should keep this idea but broaden the market to other forums and or cars to keep it general.
Its not about standing on the sideline, no one is asking you to do that, it was simply a suggestion to tweak your initial idea to maximise your return. You will also notice that bockers has offered exactly the same advice further up.

And as one of the few trolls on this thread then yes it was directed at you.
Read what I said before kicking off. Nowhere have I ever denigrated your efforts in raising money for terminally ill children. Nor have I sought to stop you doing so. What I have done is pass on some experience gained producing club calendars to help you maximise the cash return to your charity for your efforts. If you know it all, then fine.

Not interested ... Re read the thread and you will see I discussed considerations for wider base etc on page 1 And that it wouldn't be easy etc... Then flick forward to further posts and my view mig make sense.... Anyways - this is a pointless discussion and I fear somewhat soured by an abrasive attitude. If I have misunderstood then my deepest and sincere apology. I have no ego involved in this just good intention and willing to put my hand up, now could you see your way clear to stripping out the waffle or shall we leave this willy waving contest on here... If you want to wave your willy just put your name on the List

As the proceeds from this calendar are going to a charity, I would hazard a guess at it being more popular than the club calendar. If it's to be sold to a much wider base than this forum that's pretty obvious i'd think?

All we want at this stage is idea's for which coupes, locations 1, 2 or just one location, who would be willing to do this or would like to offer there services in any way to get this idea up and running. I know its not going to be easy but the main 2 things I want out of it all is to publicise fiat coupes and raise money for ill children, even if any one has a better idea than a naked coupe calender then please let me know E.G- coupe mugs or something haha, lets just get together have some fun with our cars and raise loads a money

Taking the emotive issues aside.
How many people are going to buy a calendar, for charity or otherwise, with a one make car theme? An old car which is of little interest to most other people, even if they recognise it. As recorded on here, it's difficult to sell Coupe calendars to Coupe enthusiasts on a Coupe forum.
Surely a general calendar with a mix of cars or even other forms of transport (motorbikes, mountain bikes, vans, classic cars etc etc) would broaden the appeal? Face it, how many people on here would buy a charity calendar with pictures of 12 Mitsubishi FTOs in it, should FTO owners come up with the idea? I wouldn't. Mind I wouldn't buy one with 12 naked guys in it either. Not even for charity.
Stealing an idea from my a "tits and bums" calendar, how about a "guys and girls" calendar. 24 pictures with a girl or guy for each month? One calendar that would appeal to both sexes.
The original post asked for ideas. Not agreeing with what is being said is not trolling. Asking for positive only posts would give a totally false idea of the feasability of the project. Particularly if that advice is based on practical experience. Anyway that's my 2p worth, my suggestions to broaden the appeal of the calandar. If it offends anyone, delete it. It really isn't worth getting uptight about.

The Baxi claendar for myton hospital sold over 500 copies... The one I alluded to at the start... Now boilers aren't sexy by a long shot but if you have a peek on the photographers website I posted...who took the shots you may be able to see the quality and angle he took, as for location and this is just shooting the breeze, IF it was to be strategically positioned coupe parts over nether regions in a tasteful and fun way (which is exactly what they did for Baxi) then location ain't much of an issue and I'd say depends on the volunteers geography. Let's see if we get to 12 and maybe we can rattle something together Would be great to have it mixed with m and f or we might be pitching it to a very niche market

I think we should have the calendar at least half men and half women too Market it at both sexes. I could always ask my mate if we could borrow a few Jag XJ200's and some other rare cars.

I have time on my hands this evening and the first thread I read is this Pervert + "naked" in the title = Proccy X19 + All we want at this stage is idea's for which coupes, locations 1, 2 or just one location Can we focus more on the Evo Triangles (ladies) and less of the Nurburgring (hairy arsed blokes) please? E.G- coupe mugs or something haha No shortage of mugs on here! I would like an FCCUK mug though, not expensive to source and I am sure there would be a decent margin in them, although they would be limited to FCCUK sales . Great for the club, but not good for high volume charitable sales, although I would like to be proved wrong lets just get together have some fun with our cars and raise loads a money This is a great idea Lezza I wont be buying a calendar - I just dont fancy staring at JBTs bald head, curly valve springs and track rod end every day for a month - but I will donate the cost of the calendar for a worthy cause! Now get the female members involved... how about taking donations at Brooklands/Tatton/Pageant of Power/Spa/etc/etc? I am sure with the number of events the club attends, it could generate a substantial amount?
