First job done with the help of all the advice on the forum. thermostat replaced with no major headaches also removed the IAT mod which was as i thought just a resistor. next job is trying to un-sieze the sump plug. already twisted an allen key and broked a ratchet reducer trying to remove it. time to turn up the heat!!!
A common one I'm afraid. Alternative Autos will fix you up with a new one.

Another update, sump plug removed with no damage, oil and filter replaced and managed to get the engine up to temp. Fan cuts in at around 93 and off again around 90. I call that success all round :-D
