Carbotech pads are truly awesome, very 'tried and tested'.
100 times better than EBC IMHO.

granted, there was a lot of brake dust and smoke from Begbie's brakes laugh

these pads have fantastic stopping power!!!

Carbotech XP-10's ordered for Spa.

Contact number is 01768 885000, very helpful chap called Ian who makes/distributes them.

Given there are now at least 4 of us running them at Spa, he could get some repeat business if they work well for us.

Also, have found the Carbone Lorraine RC6's are available through Demontweeks, but with a 38 day lead time ( shocked ) and at a cost of around £260 delivered. Ouch...

A future group buy deal on the Carbotechs maybe?

Carbone Lorraine are available direct, at a lot cheaper price. From memory about £160. I was going to try some of these but they were not in stock when I needed some.
Went for Pagid RS14s instead. I had problems with these waiting for them to be replaceced with a set of RS15's

Has anyone put the X8 or X10s on with new disc's at the same time ? I would like to see how the disc's fair from new.
I have witnessed how good they are,but would like to see how long they last on track along with the disc's.

[quoteI couldn’t get them to fade and found I could brake much later than I previously could when using the Yellowstuff.][/quote]
How is this possible without using the wall????

If you rate them then i will get some.

I have had 2 sets of yellows literally crumble and detatch off the metal after 1 track day each.
The brakes never faded and were very sharp.

My rear yellow pads have been in for 7 track sessions now and have about 3,mm lift on them.

I like them alot despite the short life but will give these a try.
Whats the contact details Matt and whos the best to speak to?

Liking the analogy, and mine squeal equally, each side in two tones of squeal, just like a massive EEEE-OOOORRR!

And, I've got shims fitted too!

Pads went in dry without copper grease when they were fitted, whether this makes any difference to noise, or just that the grease helps pop them into the calipers easier (mine fell in).

As to longevity of pads/discs using these, time will tell. I fitted new discs, pads, and calipers for Spa. Sure as hell stopped when called on, but I have a bit of judder at motorway speeds which feels like it could be the n/s/f bearing. It's unbearable right now grr

When I spoke to Ian before Spa, I enquired about a group buy discount, which he seemed keen to setup? I said I'd give him a call after Spa to give feedback, so will enquire further...

I've had XP8's with new 3G disc's, the pads last long with many trackdays, but they do eat on the 3G disc's a bit. Suppose it's either the pads or the disc that has to give..

Spoke to them today,
Very helpful and they also agree that Compbrake are a bunch of useless cloud9.
Said they will last 10k or 5 trackdays on average but agreed they do eat discs.
That said i usually mince the discs by the 3rd set of pads anyway.
He sad to use the godspeed discs tat are sold in Wales for longitivity and best results.
